About the adventure

Welcome new and experienced players alike to the world of Alithia! In this adventure, players of all abilities are encouraged to join! If you are new, you will learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons via a homebrew version of the classic Curse of Strahd adventure with a nautical twist! Set in the homebrew world of Alithia, you and your group of adventures will begin your quest inside the Devil's Ale House in the mountain town of Wealdstone. Outside the walls of this tavern, a shadowy fog creeps into the town on this night. Chilling to the bone, this fog sends shivers down the spines of anyone who treks outside. Players can expect gothic and eldritch horror style game set in a coastal region. This game will include intrigue, mystery, swashbuckling and adventures on the high seas! **This is an introductory campaign for new players to learn the D&D 5e system. Experienced players are encouraged to join, but understand that common rules and mechanics will be taught throughout play as needed.**

Additional Details

How to prepare

At minimum, the players will need a webcam and a mic. Rules will be explained through play. Characters will either be chosen at the session or prepared in consult with the Blue Collar Dungeon Master. No software needed. Internet connection with a relatively modern computer capable of running both Discord and a web browser such as Google Chrome required. Dice will be rolled virtually via Foundry VTT (we will go over at the start of session). A print out of the sheet is not necessary as it will be stored in both DNDBeyond and Foundry but is encouraged. Players will need to have Discord installed either on a device cable of performing voice and video capabilities for the session. Video call will be handled in Discord.

What I provide

The Blue Collar Dungeon Master will provide the game interface being Foundry VTT and DND Beyond Content for character creation as well as any subscription to video conference tools needed for the game (I have a Google Meet and Zoom subscription depending on preference. We can also used Discord for video conferencing as well.)

Gameplay details

Players can expect a gothic crossed with eldritch style horror play environment with a focus on gradually learning rules through play as opposed to having to do any "homework" prior to the session for those new to the system. As such, safety tools for this game will be vitally important for anyone joining the game. The game will employ safety tools like the XNO cards and a Digital RPG Consent list to ensure no boundaries are crossed. Players can expect the game would be rated PG13, possibly R dependent on responses to the consent list as far as content goes. Your responses to this consent list will be taken seriously. I as a DM/GM have my own boundaries as well that I will share to ensure you are aware of the spirit of the game.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be handled either with pre-made characters given by the Blue Collar Dungeon Master to the players, or the players can make their own level 1 characters with the help of the BCDM prior to the session.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
