About the adventure

Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning splits the clouds overhead, casting stark white light across him. Strahd turns to the sky, revealing the angular muscles of his face and hands. He has a look of power—and of madness. His once handsome face is contorted by a tragedy darker than the night itself. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The winds howling increases as Strahd turns his gaze back to the village. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd’s face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have come all according to his plan. He, the master of Ravenloft, will attend to them. Another lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle is towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.

How to prepare

You will need access to a free Roll20 and Discord account. I'd recommend this setting for intermediate or advanced players due to the difficult nature of events within.

What I provide

I will give players all materials required to create characters, as well as a die roller usable on Roll20. There will be maps used in game, as well as ambiance and background type music. I'm also integrating other information from sources outside of 5E so the original Ravenloft setting as well as Expedition to Castle Ravenloft from 3.5 Edition.

Gameplay details

This is a game of Gothic Horror. It contains the following items that could upset players: * Severe child abuse/juvenile murder, including infants * Referred domination in a non-consenting manner * Themes of drugs and drug addiction * Suicide

How will character creation work

Characters will begin play at Level 1 and session 0 will consist of character creation. During this time we'll discuss the themes, characters and worlds in which your characters come from. The 1st Session expect to be taken into the mists in different ways which may have some downtime for certain players if it is different than the others. Characters will be created on Roll20 and we will use Discord for voice services. Dice are not needed, but an individual can use their own dice (honor system is used).

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
