Welcome to Barovia! Are you ready to stalk through the mist-wreathed forests of Bloody Barovia? Uncover the countless mysteries throughout this wracked domain, meet the stalwart survivors, and fight back against the dreaded curse that hangs over the land. Pray the cards are in your favor, for your fate rests on the cutting edge. Hello there folks! I'm looking forward to running a playthrough of the famous Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition module, Curse of Strahd. Throughout this gothic horror adventure, we'll take your characters from level 1 all the way to level 15 as you explore the altering avenues of Barovia, it's up to you how much of this mystery you uncover, and how prepared you are to face Barovia's Dread Lord and Master come the end... This game relies heavily on the three pillars of RPGs: RP, Combat, and Exploration. This is a world where YOUR choices matter and the way you play your cards can lead to peaceful deliberation or deadly combat. If you want a campaign where the challenges you face will force you to use every resource at your disposal? Do you want to tackle the social and political structures of a land laid low? Are you ready to face staunch horrors that stalk desolate forests? Then this is the campaign for you! We'll be using Foundry VTT to provide an immersive experience with the works! Fun character art, flashy battle maps and splash pages, and moody music to get us into the Gothic Horror mindset. We'll also be using Discord for voice chat during sessions and a place to gather and talk about the game between sessions.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will at least need a mic as we will be communicating via Discord voice chat during our sessions. I highly encourage webcams as well as they allow more evocative expressions during RP! I also ask that you provide some character artwork before session 1, but that can be found during session 0 if you need help! Otherwise, the only thing you need to bring is a good internet connection!

I will be providing our Foundry VTT, battlemaps, music, and our Discord server to pal around in!

Gameplay details

Player comfort and safety is my number one priority, which is why we'll be having a session 0 before our first session, either as a group or privately, to discuss what you want in or out of this campaign. At any point, if you have anything causing your discomfort before, during, or after a session, I have an open-door policy on Discord to answer any questions and address any of your concerns. Let's make sure we're all having fun here!

How will character creation work

I'll provide the basic rules for the mechanical side of character creation and you can feel free to get started whenever you'd like! We'll also be going over character creation during Session 0, so if you want to wait and have assistance crafting your character, then that'd be the perfect place to get them ready! As for writing your characters, I encourage players to work alone or with their fellows to craft their backstories and then send them to me privately. This way your fellow can learn more about your character as they interact with them through the game! My basic character creations rules are: Standard point-buy for statistics. Any officially released material/ CR material with the exclusion of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything is up for grabs for classes, races, and backgrounds. In regards to progression: We will be using milestone leveling. HP will be calculated by rolling, though if you roll below average, you can take average instead.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
