Curse of Strahd

About the adventure

You were living your normal lives, but the mists came, and whisked you away to a cursed land, forever obscured and separated from the world, ruled by the dark powers. You will find yourselves trapped, seeking escape, working together for safety and sanity as you travel the morose and macabre lands, watched by the Devil Strahd. You will need to learn about your surroundings, piece together what has happened, and what must be done as you search for a way out of the cursed domain of Strahd. ------ This campaign is based around your characters exploration of Barovia, their interactions with the strange land and their relationship with the mysterious lord of the land Strahd von Zarovich. You will have complete control of exploration of the realm, and have options to meet and become a hope or curse for many people across the land. Your character will need a reason to live, a reason to continue as hope may abandon them, and they must continue to search, fight, and puzzle over the mysteries of Barovia. Give them ties to the outside world, but don’t work more than you need to to understand their place in it, as you will never find your way to the outside during the campaign. Gothic Horror Adventure A good roleplay and explorative adventure. Do not tread lightly in this campaign, as evil is greater than could possibly be combated. You must seek to learn what you can about the land before trying to triumph over insurmountable odds. Excellent for character development and interaction, this adventure is full of personality and thematic atmosphere to allow for exploration of your character and my take on the classic setting of Barovia. Politics: Low Role-Playing: High Tactics: Medium Self Direction: High Lethality: Medium-High Player Buy In: Willing to play through and interact with darker themes and storylines. You will find yourself surrounded by the macabre and morose, with few safe places from the dangers of the world. You must be interested in exploring and finding the secrets of the world, with a will and reason to escape this land while combating (or committing) evils along the way to survive.

How to prepare

You will need a mic and Discord (both account and program). During session zero we will decide which program you want to use, either Fantasy Grounds or Forge Vtt, neither of which will cost you a dime, and I will help you get what you need to begin.

What I provide

I bring my own DnD beyond account, and my own master tier of subscription for either Forge Vtt or Fantasy ground so you don't have to buy it. I often create my own maps and tokens which I will happily send you if you ask for them.

Gameplay details

This game contains Gothic Horror and Horror elements, and I will go over this and more in session 0 so I can make sure I am using content which is acceptable to all my players.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be done during a session 0, over discord, in whatever manner best fits for you. I will ensure the character information is properly input into the program we end up using, so you don't need to worry about that. I highly suggest you come to session zero with a few concepts of ideas for your character so we can get chatting and throwing ideas around, but I am more than happy to nerd out and help you construct your character from any point in the creative process.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
