About the adventure

*Under raging storm clouds, the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind’s howling increases as he turns his gaze down toward the village of Barovia. Far below, yet not beyond his keen eyesight, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd’s face forms the barest hint of a smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they came — all according to his plan. A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.* **GAME INFO** Curse of Strahd is a story of gothic horror, presented here as Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game adventure for a party of four to six adventurers of levels 1–10. A balance of character classes is helpful, since the adventurers will face a variety of challenges. Each character class will certainly have its moment to shine. New players will be welcome each session if there is still room.

How to prepare

Discord, a microphone and a stable internet connection is required for voice. A camera is preferred, but by no means required. However you are comfortable with showing up, I'm willing to accommodate, so long as it doesn't disrupt the game. What I provide

I can provide access to my complete D&D Beyond compendium. Additionally, I own the module on Roll20 and will endeavor to provide an immersive experience with maps, music and handouts.

Gameplay details

Psychological and Graphic Horror, Torture, Unwarranted and Predatory Behavior, Death of the Innocent, Fantasy Bigotry and Fear. Any other themes players might prefer to avoid can be discussed during Session Zero. The X Card will be in use.

How will character creation work

If you would like to make your character ahead of time, please make characters using only officially published D&D 5e materials, but know that nonhumans have a different reputation among those living in Barovia. Otherwise, pre-made characters will be provided. We will have a session zero, which will be half the cost of a normal session. I'm also able to meet 30 minutes to an hour ahead of the session start time to discuss player questions or character creation for new players.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
