Midnight Society: The Tale of Bus 42

About the adventure

Every full moon in the fall, the midnight society gathers to share the tales they learned that year. Each tale is different, each a different set of people, and different sets of horrors they face. Tonight, submitted to the midnight society, I present you with.... The Tale of Bus 42 Your on your way home to visit your folks. Or maybe your leaving you old life behind? Perhaps your on a cross country road trip to see new things. But all of you decide that taking the bus is cheap, & leaves you with alot of time on the way. Only some times there are downsides to traveling thru the middle of nowhere. And some of the riders you share the bus with might not be normal. Some might not even be human..... The games listed under the Midnight Society label are my one shot horror adventures. Each one will vary in theme, but treat these like your standard oldschool horror flick. A bunch of normal people are thrust into a horror movie & have to deal with the monsters. Players will have a selection of pre-generated characters to pick from. Since there is a high chance of death in these types of games, players will be allowed to pick a new pre-gen should their first character befall a horrible fate. Experience levels of all types are welcome. These are high role play focused campaigns with some big combat scenes, as well as investigative aspects to them.

How to prepare

A discord account with quality microphone that allows for clear communication(headseat microphone prefered to prevent echo) Familiarity with foundry VTT is welcome, but not required(its pretty easy to understand on the fly)

I will be running my copy of Foundry VTT, and supply links to players to connect to the game.

Gameplay details

Most sessions will be a mixture of investigation, role playing & combat depending on the tale being told. Most of my one shots do have at least 1 to 2 big combat scenes involved. Combat is also very dangerous when up against supernatural creatures, especially in one shots, so character death is possible. Graphic Content Warning : Descriptions of violence & murder(which may or may not occur to player characters). Obscene/vulgar language(cursing). Rated R(just like most horror movies) Lines & veils will also be honored & set up ahead of the chronicle via discord chat, so that I can fine tune any plot content to avoid things players may not want to face in game. Additionally, I am always online via my discord both during & outside of game should you need to bring something to my attention, whether thats a veil thats being approached too close or something makes you uncomfortable.

How will character creation work

Characters for this one shot will be pre-generated, and players will be able to select from a list of characters available. With the max player group of 6, I will have at least a dozen characters available for people to choose from.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
