Dungeons & Dragons 5e

About the adventure

What if the modern world was fueled by D&D magic instead of modern science? In this campaign explore the adventures and mischief players can get into as they try to make sense of life and fulfill their individual purpose. Rise against evil corporations and corrupt governments. Save towns from militaristic cults, or join the fanatics for your own purposes. Explore the country of Capirrency and help the country grow in power or bring it to its knees. Completely hombrewed, but with inspiration from other campaigns and media.

How to prepare

My recommendation for my games is to use Fight Club 5, which can be found in your app store. I will share with you my compendium (which has some duplicates, I am working on clearing it out but it's not a priority). With Fight Club 5 you can create homebrew races, classes, spells, equipment, feats, and backgrounds. You can also share your character sheets with me with the app. Fight Club 5 also has features for rolling dice, in many cases taking the addition or subtraction work out of your hands for an easier gaming experience. If you prefer to use another system, by all means stick with what you know. Send me the character sheet in an email and I will still review it. I use discord for my virtual games, but I am flexible if you and your group already have another platform. I create my own maps, and will share them with the party when appropriate using discord or whatever works for the players (email, text, Microsoft teams, etc.) I think I'm pretty flexible. If you don't have a mic I can always do a phone conference.

What I provide

I will provide maps for players, but your imagination will do a lot of the heavy lifting here as my artistic skills are that of a kindergartener drawing stick figures. I can roll for players if need be. Feel free to illustrate your characters however you'd like

Gameplay details

The themes of this game will never go above a PG-13. Teamwork, friendship, good vs evil, corruption, loss, acceptance. Anything that is overly depressing but relevant to the game will be alluded to, but I won't incorporate themes that make anyone uncomfortable. First and foremost, I like to have open communication with the players at the table, but will also use the safety tools referenced in the TTRPG Safety Toolkit if the players are comfortable with it.

How will character creation work

It depends on the group. If you are looking for a single adventure, players start at 1 and end at 5. For players looking to play a campaign I'm going to start you guys off at level 6. If the players want a session 0 for assistance in character creation I am happy to provide information and help to foster ideas. There are players who are plenty experienced in character creation and want to do it themselves, and in those cases I only ask that the player send me the character sheet for review to make sure there aren't any mechanics that would make one player more important than the other players (it's all about teamwork for my games)
