About the adventure
The Marzipan family is a famous candy-making dynasty, with a set of intelligent, cunning siblings running the business. For a long time, they've had a monopoly on quirky magical candies— until now. Your party seeks to steal the family recipe book, kept in the heart of their enormous, magical factory. A Willy-Wonka type take on your typical dungeon crawl, where you conquer puzzles, explore a strange, sugary wonderland, and attempt to take down a dubious company. Each of the magical Marzipan siblings is a custom made to play with the party's strengths and weaknesses, meaning each run of this one-shot is unique to the party that plays it! This will be a whimsical, humorous adventure with an emphasis on roleplay and improvisation, using D&D as a starting point rather than a rulebook.
Additional Details
How to prepare
Webcam recommended but not required, microphone required. If you haven't already, make a Roll20 account! I also recommend having a loose character concept before session 0 so we do not need to completely start from scratch. If you want to roll physical dice, bring your own, but since we'll be playing on Roll20 they aren't 100% necessary.
What I provide
I will create character tokens and a final post-game illustration for the party after the one-shot is over!
Gameplay details
Players can expect lots of roleplay, loose, non-gritty combat, and lots of humor. I will be giving my players a lot of room to get weird and creative with their solutions in this adventure! In session 0, I'll talk about safety tools (consent checklist, XNO cards, etc.), and loose character concepts, both mechanically and narratively. Featured NPCs in this one-shot will be centered around how the party is built, and what their personalities are like, so I like to get a good screening beforehand.

How will character creation work
Characters will be at level five, and players will create them between session 0 and the one-shot session. I also encourage the players to collaborate with each other when creating their characters to ensure an interesting personality balance!
