(CAMPAIGN) Vaesen RPG - 18th Century Horror Mystery

About the adventure

Solve mysteries in 18-century Scandinavia. Instead of fighting ancient and powerful werewolves, mermaids and ghosts,, you must discover the rituals that will banish them or put them to rest. Rebuild your headquarters, uncover character secrets and hide your own Dark Secret while protecting humanity from Vaesen - and itself. This game has an emphasis on roleplay, storytelling, asking the right questions and exploring the right places. Combat will almost always be met with defeat, and your character will take on physical and mental trauma from the dangers they face.

A decent, non-scratchy microphone. Webcam preferred but not required. Other than that, just a bunch of d6's!

What I provide

I have Acting and writing experience as well as experience running a Vaesen campaign to completion. I will provide all tokens and maps on Roll20.

Gameplay details

The publishers describe this as a "Cozy horror game with a Sherlock Holmes vibe". This is heavy a ROLEPLAY-FIRST game. It will be mostly conversational, with narrative-focused mechanics. This is a MYSTERY game. Most Vaesen are literally unkillable; to defeat them you will have to talk, investigate and perform rituals, often mixed up in a mystery among the human characters. A typical session will involve the players exploring their own agendas, upgrading their HQ, finding leads to Vaesen cases and investigating mysteries. It will be laid back in nature until things get scary.

How will character creation work

We'll create characters together over Discord! Character creations is extremely simple and can be done in less than 30 minutes, and together we'll talk at length about your character's backstory so I can weave it into the campaign.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
