About the adventure

Mystery, adventure, bug aliens and computers. We got it all! Come aboard the Reconnaissance and find out what happened to the Callisto Landing. IMPORTANT! THIS GAME SAYS HOME BREW BUT IT IS IN FACT LASERS AND FEELINGS (they just don't have it listed and I really want to get this going) The Intergalactic Federation has assigned you to the crew of the Reconnaissance - not because of your stellar service reputation, it was more like pulling names out of a hat. Your mission is to discover what happened to the research base on Callisto. Survey, gather data, and report only. No need to fight any aliens or try to recue the researchers. In fact, the Federation insists that you don't. But since when have you let the Federations rules stand in your way? That's rhetorical, they have your entire life record and they already know. So get ready to disembark on your standard Federation issue ship (last year's model) and complete your standard Federation mission for some standard Federation pay! Surely no surprises await, no flying casinos or psychic Mantids or even disturbingly corrupted androids. Nope, it'll all be fine. The Intergalactic Federation wishes you a Standard day.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Please know your characters basic appearance and a few traits. I like to let characters grow into themselves, so don't stress about having every detail down or writing up a 20 page backstory. I take a much more organic character building approach. Also, please have a roll20 account ready and Discord set up. It sounds like a bunch of stuff to do, but it's the easiest way I've found to run things. Roll20 will have your character sheet and all the dice you'll need.

What I provide

Players will be provided with relevant handouts via Roll20. Things like notes, maps, and schematics.

Gameplay details

Lasers and Feeling is a quick and easy game to learn and also tons of fun. I focus more on creative problem solving and roleplay than lots of combat. My main goal is to have an intriguing and fun session every time!

How will character creation work

Everyone will have a sheet to fill in on Roll20. It's an extremely simple sheet, so I will also be asking a few questions to fill characters out a little more. Make up your best space character (human, alien, or android) and have some fun!

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Low
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Medium
  • Experience Level: Beginner
