About the adventure

Sweat beads down your face as you move silently through the primordial jungle. Your hunting party is close by, though you can't seen them in the dense trees. Somewhere ahead is a monstrous predator with teeth the size of daggers and claws as big as your axe. Your heartbeat thunders in your ears like the sound of the drums around the Clanfire last night. Then, the sound was a comfort and lively. Now, it echoes in your head, drowning out the buzzing sound of insects and screeching cries of birds. Your breath catches in your throat. There it is, just a few feet away. And the monster sees you. You stare into each others eyes for a brief moment, before you do the only thing you can do. You scream and leap, your stone axe above your head. There is only one rule in Planegea. Strike first or fall.

How to prepare

Not everyone is comfortable with being on camera, so while I encourage video, it is not necessary. I highly recommnd a headset microphone, as it is usually tons better than a computer microphone, but any voice communication should be fine. You will need to set up an account on Roll20 and Discord (if you don't have one already). Since Roll20 is browser based, I also recommend downloading the Discord app if you can, as it saves a lot of strain on your browser. If you want to read up on the setting ahead of time, the Planegea setting PDF is available for purchase now on the Atlas games website.

What I provide

I already have a PDF copy of the setting as well as a majority of the 5E books with player character options available to me. Unfortunately, the Planegea setting has not yet been made VTT compatible, so I will aid everyone in the character creation process, and can use screen sharing via Discord if anyone needs to physically see the book.

Gameplay details

The Star-Shaman's Song of Planegea is a stone age D&D 5E setting, sometimes referred to as Stonepunk, all about surviving in a harsh, primitive world. This game will focus on the themes of survival and discovery. Before play begins, Players will be sent a customized Gaming Contract and asked to set their comfort levels with various themes/topics (not all of which are applicable, but I prefer more information to less). These are seen only by me. I will compile a Master Gaming Contract. We will also use X-Cards, breaks, and discussion during and after sessions. One thing all players should know: races, classes, backgrounds, and many other elements of the setting are very much changed from their vanilla D&D counterparts. Mechanically, they will work exactly the same, but their flavor is quite different. One of the main things we will go over during Session 0 is these differences.

How will character creation work

Characters will start at 1st level and we will use Milestone experience to level up. We will create characters during the Session 0 on the Roll20 VTT. This is due to the differences in the flavor of classes that you will need knowledge of before making a character. There are also some race/class options unique to the Planegea setting.
