Learn to Play PF2e - Adventures in Otari
Pathfinder 2e on Discord, Foundry VTT
About the adventure
After our 5 sessions-intro to learn the ropes as we all stepped into the Pathfinder 2e system with the Beginner Box adventure, MENACE UNDER OTARI, our heroes are now ready to tackle more challenges in this campaign based in and around the seaside town. Your employer and friend, the halfling Tamily Tanderveil, offers you to clean up an old fishing camp to thank you for your recent successes in finding out what was happening underneath her cellars. Now, getting a base camp all to yourselves seems a great opportunity... even though she's warned you that 'things' may have decided to move in since her last visit, over a year ago. Early one morning, you leave the safety of the town and take off into the forest towards the east, ready to face whatever awaits you there... This will be a player-driven campaign mixing official material as well as various missions and quests homebrewed by yours truly... all eventually leading into an overarching, epic storyline. Come and test your mettle against evil cults and savage beasts in these new ADVENTURES IN OTARI !
How to prepare
Reasonable internet bandwidth and usable computer or laptop (give your iPhone a rest here, thanks !), working mic/audio setup + access to Discord required. Players must create an account on The Forge site, which we will use to access FOUNDRY (account is free). You can use your own IRL dice if preferred, otherwise we all roll on the VTT.
What I provide
Working knowledge of basic PF2E rules + VTT access. A friendly, open team of enthusiastic players from various timezones. Ah, also, my genius creative mind and flabbergasting communication skills. Obviously. XD
* We will be making available the use of some basic Safety Tools and provide a mid-session break of about 10 minutes for creature comforts. We expect all involved (including the DM) to behave with maturity, kindness and respect towards each-other, this being after all a cooperative game... ! Thus, any form of clearly abusive or bullying behavior will result in instant banning from the session, with no refunds. * * THIS IS A STARTER CAMPAIGN: remember we are all doing this to LEARN the PF2E system. I am an experienced DM with a few solid years of pro work under my gaming belt (mostly involving 5e and older D&D editions), but as is, I am also currently learning to run this particular system: thus you can expect a slow, beginner-friendly, easy-going game pace, especially during your first few sessions. In short: for all y'all tactical combat beasts and other hardcore, high-octane PF2E gamers, maybe this is not the session for you, unless you wish to apply your knowledge of the game to help us noobs ? Cheers... (-: * * * CONTENT WARNING: possibly vivid descriptions of combat situations / physical violence, insects, rodents, dead bodies... remember you always have the option to ask the DM to "fade to black" so as to make these story-bound accounts less brutal or disturbing. Any player may choose to do so at any time, without any need to explain or justify themselves: see 'Lines and Veils' Safety Tool

How will character creation work
This is a campaign following the Beginner Box Adventure, 'Menace Under Otari'. Even though some of the players in the group actually played through this, it is in no way necessary to have done so and anyone can jump in and join the party with minimal preparation: - Characters will start at 2nd level, with 25 gp to purchase any equipment, weapons and armor available in the Core Rulebook. - Players can create their characters live on Foundry VTT or use the Pathbuilder 2e character creation website (DM can provide a link), which can then be transposed onto Foundry pretty easily. - Please reach out to me through Discord (AshDrunbar#3628) at least 24 hours previous to game start so we can have a look at your character prior to you joining. - Feel free to share any trigger warnings, do's and dont's, chosen pronouns, favorite playstyle or any other important information / questions you'd like me as a DM to answer before the game.
Players can expect
- Combat/Tactics: Medium
- Roleplay: Medium
- Puzzles: Low
- Experience Level: None
