About the adventure

Join us, storytellers, in the land of Hæth where shepherds tend to their bumblebees and magical forgotten gods roam as eternal mushrooms in the wood. Traveling as animal folk we will write our story together wandering our world. Are you a spritely young ragamuffin otter? Perhaps an elder raccoon peddler selling his wares? No dice or prior player experience is necessary. For fans of endearing animal-folk stories and magically kind content such as Summer Camp Island, Animal Crossing, Hilda, and My Neighbor Totoro.

How to prepare

Games are hosted on a discord voice server with access to basic rules that you may read over prior to the game. Players are only required to have a mic/headphones. Character playbooks that you will utilize to build your character's traits and personality in-game will be accessible in Discord channel. Character sheets are provided as a fillable PDF for your reference. If unable to print, I recommend having access to a PDF form filler tool or a printer. If neither is available, notes can also be taken physically on some scrap paper or in the Discord channel. Wanderhome utilizes a token system to help us tell our story. You will track your own tokens as you give and take them and they can take the form of many things: coins, grains, pens, acorns, scraps of paper, whatever you have on hand!

What I provide

Wanderhome is theater of the mind, background music and images may be utilized to set the tone of our story.

Gameplay details

πŸ‚ What is Wanderhome? πŸ‚ Created by Jay Dragon, "Wanderhome is a pastoral fantasy role-playing game about traveling animal-folk, the world they inhabit, and the way the seasons change." Wanderhome is a storytelling game - there is no combat or dice, only a simple token system that allows player options on how they would like to contribute to the narrative we will create together. This is a game open to players of all experience levels, all you need to bring is your imagination. -Content Warnings- Please note that Wanderhome characters, or Kith, are animal folk of any species. The animal equivalent in-game are insects which often play a significant role in Kith's lives. While being a nonviolent/noncombat story of community, the setting of Wanderhome alludes to being a post-war era with elements of folk religions that may be referenced by characters or the GM. Sexual content and explicit violence will not be present in this game. Not all or potentially any of the topics provided in the content warnings may be present depending on our story, if there is something that you would like to explicitly not be referenced that has been provided as a content warning please let me know and I will communicate this with the other players anonymously. In addition to safety tools checked, Wanderhome has its own set of journeying tools that allow players to redirect the story within the narrative inspired by the Script Change safety mechanic.

How will character creation work

I recommend reviewing the character playbooks available on the discord before playing. Part of the enjoyment of Wanderhome is the character creation which will take the first hour of gameplay. We will go around the group building our characters and their relationships with one another before we set on our journey. Please have the first couple of pages of your character playbook prepared regarding your character's traits and items.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Low
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
