About the adventure

1242, Central Eastern Europe. The Mongol invasion is in retreat. The death of Genghis Khan marks the end of a brief and bloody era. For those living on the eastern border of Europe, it is time to rebuild. The Mongol hordes have promised that they will return, and the lords of Europe need time to prepare. For the immortal creatures which haunt this land, the Kindred, these past two years have produced the greatest devastation in their long lifespan. Their fates are intimately tied to the fates of the mortals of this land, and they must also rebuild. This is a time of modernization and consolidation, but it is also a time of great shifts in the power of these ancient lords. Their power has been smashed, their vassals have been slain, and their alliances have been broken. This is a time when the young can topple the old; it is a time when the peasant can topple their lord.

How to prepare

Please have a basic understanding of the rules and your character's abilities. You don't need to be perfect, though. We'll be getting through the system, so we might make some errors playing RAW. The game will be run on discord with roll20 used for more visually intensive elements.

Gameplay details

Lines and Veils will be discussed prior to play and X,N, and O cards can be handled publically or privately (through PM). My games are LGBTQ+ friendly and I do not tolerate racism or bullying. There will likely be prejudiced opinions expressed by non-player characters towards other characters, particularly towards central asian characters. Likewise, there will likely be prejudiced opinions expressed by catholic npcs towards non-catholic characters. Xenophobia and religious conflict are topics that I would like to explore in this game, but they can be omitted at player request. Vampire is a game that often excels when exploring the transgression of contemporary morality. Dark Ages is even more exemplary of this because vampires do not need to hide behind the Masquerade. This makes safety tools even more important and we can revisit these topics as we play. My DMs are always open with any concerns.

How will character creation work

Free Session 0 as organized on discord using standard character creation rules. We will start with 20 or 25 Freebie Points with the amount determined at chargen. All clans are permitted, and I would even be interested in having some kindred of the east in the game.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
