About the adventure

Blades in the Dark is a tabletop role-playing game about a crew of daring scoundrels seeking their fortunes on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. There are heists, chases, occult mysteries, dangerous bargains, bloody skirmishes, and, above all, riches to be had — if you’re bold enough to seize them. You and your fledgling crew must thrive amidst the threats of rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the Bluecoats of the city watch, and the siren song of your scoundrel’s own vices. Will you rise to power in the criminal underworld? What are you willing to do to get to the top?

How to prepare

Please have an active Roll20 and Discord account that I may send you an invitation to the game and server. Once invited you will be able to setup your character in your time. The players should have a mic as we will be using Discord for audio chat. A webcam is nice, but not needed. Familiarize yourself with the Blades in the Dark rules using the available YouTube videos online for learning. But don't worry, I'm more than happy to help teach as needed. We will be using Roll20 for distributing handouts and for showing other visual aids, as well as using their digital dice and character sheet.

Bring your imagination and your willingness to improv and have fun. Blades in the Dark is a game that's ultimately in your hands. What kinds of scores, who to be enemies or friends with, is in your hands. This is a cooperative story telling game. Everyone will have a chance to influence the story!

This game portrays elements of gothic horror, criminal violence, drug use, and other vices. We make use of Monte Cook's Consent in Gaming document as well as the Safety Toolkit.

How will character creation work

We will begin discussing character options via the Discord Channel and setup a Session 0 to decide on the what kinds of Scores the crew would like to focus on.
