Blades in the Dark

About the adventure

We will be playing a short campaign set in the haunted city of Doskvol. Each session will find our crew of scoundrels planning and executing a heist and dealing with the fallout of that heist. This campaign will be fairly short, clocking in at five (5) sessions. Each heist will draw us closer to our final goal of taking out other crews. I am hoping this campaign feels like a mix of the following media: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, The Godfather, and The Queen's Thief Series by Meghan Turner. Join up to help us become the most powerful crew this side of the lightning towers.

How to prepare

Players should have access to a mic. Webcams are not required. Our campaign will be styled after radio theater style storytelling. Players should have access to IRL dice and/or the platform tool we communally decide to use (usually this is Roll20, Role, Discord, or Slack).

What I provide

I will have audio materials (music, SFX, etc), digital handouts of clues, maps, and other details as they become relevant. I will provide players with startup material and character sheet templates.

Gameplay details

We will have a session 0 for characters creation, communal lorebuilding, and seting up a lines and veils doc together. I will also make space for players to add to and/or change the lines and veils doc anonymously. After each session - within 24 hours - I will DM each player to check in about their comfort levels, their goals, and any element of their experience they wish to discuss. This way I can better plan and adjust content for the next session without putting any individual player on the spot.

How will character creation work

We will conduct character creation over an asynchronous session 0. In other words, we will have a thread or a line of communication in which we will handle character creation, lorebuilding, and establishing lines and veils.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
