About the adventure

Call of Cthulhu is a horror game. While no specific age requirement is set, it is recommended that those who want to get the most out of this game be not faint of heart (or stomach). The game deals with dark themes of violence, existentialism, and sanity. It's not all gloom and doom though; as with all roleplaying games there's always room for laughs and a sense of adventure. This particular game is recommended for those who place more stock on roleplay than they do on tactical combat. How to prepare

Players should read the "Call of Cthulhu Quckstart Guide". This is a short document provided for free on Chaosium's (the publishing company for this game) website. It is recommended that players do not read the scenario included with the quickstart guide, as it is an excellent scenario to run for first time players, and may be the one selected for the session, or some potential future session.

I will create all backgrounds on Roll20, as well as provide the Rulebook, should any more specialized questions arise.

Gameplay details

This game is first and foremost a horror game. As alluded to above, while combat will be present, it is not as tactical (and perhaps not as wise) as in other RPG's. Character in this game are frail, both physically and mentally, and are often unwilling participants rather than brave heroes. More emphasis is placed on roleplaying and investigation rather than tactical combat. However, should you desire your characters be a bit tougher, alternative rules exist to accommodate that.

How will character creation work

Call of Cthulhu characters can be generated far quicker and easier than characters in many other RPGs. Upon booking the session you will also be entitled to a half hour audio or video call specifically dedicated to character creation. Should you have any further questions you may contact me through the provided channels and I would be happy to answer them.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
