How to prepare
You'll need a microphone, a Discord account, and a Roll20 account. I recommend using Chrome or Firefox when using Roll20. A webcam is encouraged, but not required. (I will be on camera during the session) If you're new to D&D (or just new to D&D on Roll20) this video shows how your character sheet works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugnIid8yb0A&t=46s Each character is a friend of an elderly human sage named Johara Quillsworn, who has asked you to travel to Redtower to investigate the new moon in the sky. Think about how you know Johara, and what your history is with them. Each player who comes up with a 1-2 paragraph backstory for their character will receive a free potion of healing. This can be done before or during session 0.
What I provide
Tons of material from Wizards of the Coast, Kobold Press, and MCDM A massive adventure with detailed battle maps, dynamic lighting, music, and sound effects Custom side quests
🤝🏼During session 0 players will create their characters & we'll establish how everyone knows one another. 🦺We'll also discuss safety tools during session 0. A note on Content Warnings: While this game does feature torture by NPCs to other NPCs, it will occur off camera, and none of my games ever feature violence against children or sexual assault. 📑A Lines and Veils doc will be provided to all players in advance of the session. ⌛Each session will have one or two 10 minute breaks. 🗣️I have an open door policy, and will be available after each game to discuss any concerns anyone has. My House Rules: 1️⃣Each character starts with a free feat at first level 🍾Drinking a potion can be performed as an action, or as a bonus action. If you drink a healing potion as an action, you recover the full amount of HP the potion provides. If you drink as a bonus action, you roll to see how much you healed. 🔮Players not present during a session will have their characters vanish through a portal, only to be brought back the next time that player can join. No time will pass for their characters and although they could potentially level up, they cannot benefit from a long or short rest during this time. Also, some rare magical items or other such things significant to the campaign could be left behind for the group to use while that character is gone. A Note on Survivability: The Scarlet Citadel is very dangerous. There may be foes and situations that are too powerful, and will require strategic retreats. Pulling back from a fight you can't win isn't cowardly, it's smart.
