Avernus Rising! new level 1-20 campaign (play by post, beginners welcome!)

About the adventure

Damnation! The Companion that once stood as a beacon of hope and goodness above the city of Elturel has been extinguished and the entire city—along with its denizens—have been drawn into Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells! While those fortunate enough to have been outside of the city’s walls during its departure have been spared that fate, but they’re not yet out of danger! The refugees formed a caravan bound for the nearby city of Baldur’s Gate. Can you keep them safe from devils, bandits, and one another until they reach safety? Note: this is not the campaign Descent into Avernus, but the season 9 Avernus campaign arc for adventure's league. Play through different missions in Baldur's Gate and Avernus separate from the official storyline but no less important! This game is asynchronous Play by Post where you can respond whenever you want and only get charged once a week! The game is entirely on discord and we use the bot Avrae to roll from our dndbeyond sheets. I will teach you how to use Avrae if you don’t know how to!

How to prepare

Players will need to have a discord and dndbeyond account. Play by Post is done through discord using a bot called Avrae to make rolls. If you are unfamiliar with how Avrae works I will teach you.

What I provide

I will provide a fun and safe environment for you to play DnD through Play by Post, will teach you how to use Avrae, and will make updates throughout the day for you to respond to!

Gameplay details

Players are encouraged to use safety tools or privately message me during game if any issues come up. There will be no homophobia, transphobia or sexual assault in my games. Content warning: hell, religious themes, demons/devils, trapped souls, evil acts, slavery.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be done before the game on dndbeyond. I will give you access to my dndbeyond campaign room, which has all the sourcebooks allowed. Character creation rules: Level 1 Standard Array or Point buy (27) (No rolling for stats) Sourcebooks allowed: Dungeon Master's Guide, Player's Handbook, Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes, Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, Volo’s Guide to Monsters, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, Monsters of the Multivers Magic items: Allowed from sourcebooks above 2 uncommon You will start out with 100gp and one potion of healing.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
