About the adventure

Tombstone, Arizona - 1887 You are all residents of Tombstone, a small town known for being a waypoint on the road from St. David to the Mexico border. It’s a tough place to live. Not only are the banditos of the local drug trade especially rampant near these parts, but people are constantly going missing or dying of mysterious causes. The town has recently been stirring over the death of a local woman who was eaten alive by her husband, Jacob Dean. There is a hearing to determine his guilt and punishment by law at the courthouse on Allen Street. The whole town will be there!

How will character creation work

We will do a Session Zero for character creation. It will take roughly 15 minutes per character. Once characters are made, there will be a gap in the time before we next play. This will allow you to fill in the narrative gaps around the characters that you have made. You will choose a class to play from the PDF list I have compiled, and you will create your character using the instructions listed. You will create a character background that fits with the story provided. Think outside the box. There is no limit to what we can do. If you would rather be a wanderer or cowboy, you may happen upon the town and see everyone else going to the courthouse so you do too. Magic does exist, as some of you may likely find out while creating your character. Understand that it may not work in the way that you assume, and that this is the real world. People in the old west may not be so receptive to someone publically using magic. There will be a lot of opportunity for roleplay and interpersonal scenes! Take advantage of these! The way that you interact with others will help you solve the mystery. There will only be a few locations that are pre-established in this town, so you will have to work together to flesh out the map and places that you would like to go to investigate. Lastly, this is a somewhat dark tale. Your gameplay will be what keeps it fun and light. Everything in the Apocalypse System is based on roleplay. This is VERY different from D&D 5E and will require a great deal more improvisation and character building. This is your chance to really embrace your character, so choose wisely! I am very excited to do this with all of you! If you are willing to help me, I know that this will be a story worth telling.
