About the adventure

In most Alien stories is a story of isolationist horror with an overwhelming problem. This is not that. This is much simpler. This isn't even a Bug Hunt. We're ready, man, check it out. We are each a USCSS Marine, the ultimate badass! State of the badass art! You do NOT want to mess with this. Check it out! Hey Player, don't worry. Me and my squad of ultimate badasses will protect you! Check it out! Independently targeting particle beam phalanx. Whoa! Fry half a city with this puppy. We got tactical smart missiles, phase-plasma pulse rifles, RPGs, we got sonic electronic ball breakers! We got nukes, we got knives, sharp sticks... AlienRPG tends to be be pretty brutal. Do you have a friend who might join you? You will want support. This one-shot is meant to run over 3 acts, which usually takes 2-3 sessions. Then for those that wish to continue, there is a longer option of continuation(which is why it lists +Campaign in there).

How to prepare

As standard for all my online games, webcams and microphones are not necessary, but are highly encouraged. You will need a reliable internet browser and discord for voice/memes. There is a chat function on the VTT but it can be missed if the situations are high and the rolling is rocking. While morbid comedy is a thing, this will be a serious game so you will need to make your moments of comedy few and far between to allow tensions to build and immersions to exist. Make it soldier humor, not SNL.

What I provide

Dice will be provided on VTT. Pictures and professional-grade sheets and maps will be used in all cases. If IRL, dice will be provided (you can buy your own sets if you want)

Gameplay details

As this game deals with high amounts of stress and extreme military combat situations, we will be using the X-Card and the Flower cards during game as well as Lines and Veils in the Session Zer0. PTSD is a real thing and a real theme. As this game will be run by a veteran, I will be looking out for players having difficulties. Know your limits. This is a military game against monsters both internal and external. Most of your planning will be dealt with by the higher ups so this is more of a shoot-move-communicate expectation than doing any real field-grade maneuvering. On-the-spot thinking will keep you alive longer. You do not have permission to die, Marine!

How will character creation work

Pregenerated characters will be provided with an established rank structure and gear loadout on FoundryVTT with a URL the GM will provide during Session Zer0. Character selection will be determined during Session Zero. If this will be an IRL game, I will bring all the paper maps and combat will be done 70% TheatreOfThe Mind/30% location based. You will have character firearms. Up close melee is a bad idea.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
