About the adventure

General Setting: Ios Welcome to the Age of Desolation; it is a perilous time of tumult and toil throughout Ios. It has been twenty years since the final battle between the Exalted Gods and the Fallen Gods. In this civil war known as the Divine Cataclysm, the floating cities of the Aeonian Dominion fell and were cascaded along the surface of Ios. Former Aeonian nobility and slaves alike were forced to find new homes on the surface below. Many of the former slaves of the Aeonian Dominion spread to far corners of the continent of Altisha. They formed tribalistic clans and chose to live free and stand against the horrors of a Godless Ios along. Starting Location: The Undying Grove: One of the few remaining patches of green in a war-torn country Some biomes of Altisha were irrevocably ravaged by the war of the Gods, others have slowly been returning to some measure of hospitality. The Undying Grove however, appears to have never been effected. Perhaps because outsiders do not know where to find the grove, or perhaps because of its keen connection to the Feywild. One thing is for certain the Undying Grove is ancient and powerful; nations have rose and fell and the Grove remains. Whether you were fleeing the war, your family has always been in the grove or have newly discovered the Grove; whenever you arrived it immediately fell like home. Through the natural bounty the grove provides and its many mysterious yet uncovered; one thing is certain is that the Grove has fallen under the gaze of many groups vying for dominion over Alisha. What will you do to protect the grove from outsiders, or will you let the snake into the garden? Game: Dungeons & Dragons 5e {Paid] Group type: Online via Foundry VTT & Discord Player Experience: New and Experienced Players Welcome Schedule: Thursdays 8:00 pm EST; 3 weeks of live sessions, 1-week downtime session Roles sought: All players are welcome at my virtual table. There are currently two spots left to fill at this table. Game style: Balance of roleplay, exploration and combat with complex narratives and believable characters. I aim to challenge my players utilizing all the pillars of D & D while also making sure that everyone is entertained. DM style: I prefer to challenge my players with equal shares of combat, narrative roleplaying, and exploration but I tailor our games based on the needs of my players. I am knowledgeable on the rules as written and I have homebrewed rules to supplement the gameplay experience as appropriate. All my homebrew rules are explained upfront and if I ever need to change a rule, I will discuss it beforehand. I consider myself to be a confident, clever, and fair DM, but good storytelling is to show not tell.
