About the adventure

Something is wrong in your home. The famine has been unnaturally long. The nobles ignore your pleas for help. And the blood-drained sheep lie dead in the pastures. Something has to change. Someone has to change it. 🧛Bring down bloodsucking aristocrats 🔍Unveil the mysteries of a haunted nation ⚔️Defend your home with blade and word 🏚️Lead the county to prosperity - or it will fall to ruin Start a revolution against the horrors of Ustalav! In this Gothic realm, people like you remain oppressed by both the mundane and the magical. The uncaring nobility refuse to help you against the cadre of nightmarish creatures that threaten your livelihoods, let alone your lives. It is time to rise up against them, like the northerners once did - what more do you have to lose? In this custom-made sandbox adventure, you take on the role of denizens of a small village destined for a grand future. Your hometown may be threatened by famine, undead, and eldritch horrors, but you know that by rallying the people to your cause you can take charge and make a change. You will need to ensure your people's basic needs, their safety, and their prosperity. You will need allies, defences, and knowledge. You will lead the fight, and you must prevail. ✨All my games are inclusive. ✨Character creation advice will be available for those who want it. ✨We will be using Decuma to establish character bonds - tarot cards that ask great roleplay-related questions! The campaign begins at level 1 and has various arcs, with room to continue to high levels!

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a mic and a computer with a web browser. You don't need to know the rules in advance. You will also need accounts with Discord and the Forge (both are free). Not sure if your computer can handle Foundry? Try the demo here: https://foundryvtt.com/demo If you wish to use video, you will need some kind of webcam.

What I provide

I will provide Foundry virtual tabletop with music, maps, and virtual dice. I will also provide lots of enthusiasm! We will be using my discord server with private channels for the game. Regarding rule adherence: I stick to the rules in combat, but allow cool things that are not game-breaking. Outside of combat things flow a bit more freely, and I love creative solutions!

Gameplay details

Our first meeting will be a session 0. We will discuss safety tools, session length and number of breaks, and any character set-up that needs doing - we may also run a test encounter if we have time. Safety tools: all lines and veils should be sent to me, and I will anonymise them and ensure the group is aware of where not to tread. We will also have an anonymous X-card button available, and the N- and O-cards can be typed into chat at any point. The content warnings include things that may potentially show up or are optional and can be removed. Please discuss with me if you would like some removed.

How will character creation work

Please have a level 1 character idea ready for our first meeting. The character should be input into Foundry VTT by the end of session 0. Players who join later will make characters at the same level as the rest of the party. Rare and uncommon character aspects will be subject to GM approval, but I am very nice, I promise. We will use the standard 'Boosts & Flaws' method of stat generation (listed here: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2027&NoRedirect=1). You are welcome to use Pathbuilder to design your character.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
