About the adventure

Aaahhhh, there's nothing like a cold drink at the tavern to relax after a long journey! After arriving at the small town of Arrowhall, you and your companions flock to the bar, ready to down a pint. But before long, you are interrupted by the unlikeliest of creatures who asks for your help in returning an item that was taken from him. He hopes that the item will solve an issue that has been irking him quite......baaaaahhhhhdly. While this interruption definitely gets your goat, you know that your new acquaintance is counting on you. Will you and your companions be able to obtain the item in two shakes of a lamb's tail? Or is this simple fetch quest a wolf in sheep's clothing that could leave your new friend out of luck? This quirky one-shot is meant to be played in a single session and is great for experienced players and newcomers alike who are looking for fun roleplaying and light, but challenging, combat. No prior D&D5e experience needed, as this adventure is an excellent starting point to learn the basic 5e rules.

Additional Details

How to prepare

This game uses Foundry VTT through the Forge platform. As such, players will need: āœ” A personal computer that runs, ideally, Chrome Web Browser, as we will use Foundry VTT for our rolls (tablets and phones do not typically work as smoothly). āœ” A functioning webcam and microphone. āœ” A Discord account.

What I provide

I will provide each players' character. Because we will run our game through Foundry VTT, I will provide: āœ” A link to the Foundry VTT server. āœ” Character tokens. āœ” Walled maps with dynamic lighting. āœ” Immersive music and sound effects. āœ” And most importantly, an opportunity to create a fun, captivating, and riveting adventure with your companions!

Gameplay details

Players can expect lots of opportunities for roleplaying and tactically light-to-medium combat encounters. This game will be run through Foundry VTT. While players are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Foundry VTT interface, such familiarization will not be strictly required, as I will be happy to introduce its features and capabilities to new users. This game includes simulated combat and violence. While general descriptions are typically used to describe the players' and NPC's actions ("You defeat the goblin"), some occasions may include more graphic detail to illustrate the scene in greater depth ("Your weapon connects with the goblin's torso, and it lets out an involuntary grunt"). These details are meant only to be thematic, and any player who feels uncomfortable with such a scene is welcomed and encouraged to ask for a break or to step away for their own safety. No player will be penalized, and there will be no judgment toward any player who is uncomfortable with a scene.

How will character creation work

Players will be provided with a character of a class of their choice prior to the game session in Foundry VTT where our game will be run. The character will be either level 4 or 5 depending on the number of players in the session. Because players will have access to their characters and their characters' equipment, attributes, and abilities within Foundry VTT, there will be no need to bring any additional character-related materials to the game besides your characters' personalities, quirks, and drive for adventure!

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
