About the adventure

The Land of Nod is a vast world inspired by the myths and literature of our world's past and present created by John Stater, interwoven with hooks to some of the best published adventure sites and my own homebrew. A hexcrawl makes traveling across fantastical lands and exploring them a focus of the game. The world is your sandbox. The can trek across forests, mountains and deserts, wander cities and the ruins of fallen empires, in addition to the caves and catacombs beneath the earth. In this game, you may explore a vast world with thousands of points of interest freely. Any stories are not planned but emerge from play. The land holds many secrets of its past and present to be uncovered by peaking into nooks and crannies. With every session new strands are woven until the game becomes a rich tapestry and the world feels like a living fantastical place. We will use the Old School Essentials system, a rules-lite replica of the 1981 version of Dungeons & Dragons that puts the focus on imagination and immersion. It is one of the easiest versions of D&D to learn while being satisfying for players with any amount of experience.
