About the adventure

Are you looking for a light hearted and creative way to get together virtually with your friends and possibly others in a way you never have before? Check out this Goofy Guide to D&D! So many people take themselves so seriously and there D&D even more so but I'm here to say that's not how you have to play. Join me in this game for an adventure based on Thrills and Laughs that is specifically tailored to introduce people to the world of role play. In this session I will provide a couple of premade characters for everyone with very thin suggestions of personality so the rest is up to you! We will talk about what makes for strong character choices and FUN choices for everyone at the table. My games focus on inclusivity of all people that are looking to have a good time shared among others. After characters are confirmed we will barrel into on of my many well loved One-Shot adventures found in my other game "Adventure Awaits, in the Termila Forest!" Once there we will take a slow start to the game starting rules light and going from there. There are no wrong questions when you are learning something new, so feel confident to ask about anything you are unsure about. This game will be played virtually over zoom and in the style of Theater of the Mind. This means that all you need is a way to join the call and an imagination to play as there will be no virtual table top just well practiced descriptions. See you there! Additional Details

How to prepare

Take a brief look at a character sheet and maybe the rules if so inclined but this is a ground up adventure so all they need is a way to join the zoom and see the pdf I will send them. Also real dice are encouraged (there is something special about the way it feels to roll that really makes it fun) but virtual rollers are accepted.

What I provide

I bring years of experience and improv skills along with character sheets for those who need it and a pension for teaching. I can also share links to virtual dice sets if people need them.

Gameplay details

This is gentle step into D&D for people of all races, ages, nationalities, and sexualities with an emphasis on light hearted fun and frequent laughter. We will start gameplay with a talk about lines and veils which for people unfamiliar is a tool we use in games to keep the things that will make our real life selves uncomfortable out of our adventure. No one wants to be pulled out of their experience by reliving something they would rather not so we try to make sure this space is one where people feel they can speak up about what they need. All that being said this is going to be an adventure where roleplay is encouraged and big moves are rewarded. You can expect an array of goofy voices and intriguing NPCs (Non-Player Characters) for everyone to interreact with and even occasionally battle! But that's the thing, everything that happens is up to you as a player. I will lay down the ground work with a goal that is somewhat clear and then you run with it from there. Feel free to yes-and me all you want that's how I love to play.

How will character creation work

I will provide 5th level characters for anyone to play (That's when the characters really tart to get fun in my opinion) but players are also recommended and definitely encouraged to bring whatever wacky, fun, and creative character they wish to play and we can look at it together.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Low
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Beginner
