About the adventure

A fun, light-hearted to serious game based upon the holiday classic. Set in the northern village of Grace, your party has been given a task to deliver medicine to a family that is in desperate need to treat their crippled child. Once there, you find the entire town is in terrible condition. The lord of the land, Lord Scrooge, has kept the village in disrepair in order to save money. After discussing the matters of the town to the doctor treating the crippled child, you're approached by a strange being that requests your help to help change the lord of the lands way. Using a combination of classic styled Dickens type characters with other favorite holiday stories, this one shot game pictures how A Christmas Carol could get played out in a fantasy setting. Players do not need to be familiar with the original story itself. Sound effect clues help with the overall puzzle that has to get solved in order for the players to become successful. Light-hearted fun in addition to the classic story should create a fun experience for all.

Gameplay details

*note that this game's preferred season is the holiday season between November and December* The game is fairly fast pace without much planning time needed. Some puzzle solving will happen with a moderate amount of combat. Discussions above game are fine, but when announcing decisions players are encouraged to use "character voice". The emphasis is on the story. Characters will be supplied for a 7th level game. If a player really wants a specialized character, please message me prior to the game session. This game does have the same themes as Dickens's classic "A Christmas Carol". Undead and ghosts are part of this game. While I tend to run games at a PG-13 rating, I realize that some of the themes of this game can be dark for some. Please contact me if you have any questions. If a person feels distress while playing the game, please let me know by saying "yellow" (meaning I'm uncomfortable so please don't describe more details) or "red" (which means I will stop the game to check on how you are doing).
