Storyline In the years before years, on the planet Rahu, Tor came forth from the Heavens endowed with power over air and wind to face off against Summit. Summit reigned over the nations of Charnaas, imbued with vengeful power from the ruler of Death himself. While Tor was able to draw Summit out into the Western Seas, where they fought for many years, pulling the conflict away from civilization, Summit eventually overpowered Tor and crushed him on the floor of the Ocean. Fortunately, for all the inhabitants of Rahu, Tor's son Rohan lived on, hidden in the clouds and kept safe by his mother. Meanwhile, Summit slowly marched back on Charnaas, planting himself along the coastal regions of the small nation you live in. It is told that Summit gathered vast armies of orcs, goblins, and other foul creatures to fight for him, and for 30 years they ravaged your lands and the lands of many neighboring nations. According to legend, when he came of age, Rohan returned to defend your lands and went after Summit. The fate of Rahu rested in his hands, and the power of Wind channeled through his great Staff. Summit was overcome and in that same moment, the great Staff shattered. Rohan's people gathered the Shards and returned them to their master. After 34 long years, Rohan had finally been able to triumph, and Summit, the great Giant of Stone, was vanquished. Over time, the guardian city of Rohan diminished. Rohan’s floating stronghold became first frequently distant, then hidden, then invisible. Rohan, in the common tongue, came to mean 'ascending,' as in ascending to great power, or to a high point above a place protected, and the ancient ruins of Rohan's city were left behind. Even while orcs and men continued their sporadic conflicts, the city and the surrounding Hinterlands became empty of all threats to life and even life itself. Memories, and then stories, of how Rohan would float high above the people and watch over them from the walls of his floating fortress still circulated. There were some who believed he would only send help to aid in great causes. For most of the people of Charnaas, however, threats of evil and promises of protection, faded into legend, then into myth. Summit's form has now lain motionless for over 250 years. Grass, plants and trees have grown up on the mass of his body, his form cracking, crumbling and fading, the danger of Earth forgotten. Rohan's Fortress has never been seen among your generation. But now, you have felt tremors in the earth and heard rumors of a moving mountain. Summit is awakening! You choose to join the company of two half-elves working to find the Commissioned, a scattered group of 12 individuals, also called the Shard Bearers, who supposedly bear the last remnants of Tor's power, and the only real defense against the strength of Summit.
