About the adventure

The year is 1876. George Armstrong Custer has drawn his last breath at the Little Bighorn. Wild Bill Hickok is shot and killed during a poker game gone wrong in Deadwood, South Dakota. It's the best of times. It's the weirdest of times. This is not the story of how the West was won. There are no winners in this game, just survivors. While men were headed west across the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains to seek their fame and fortune, the old gods were doing the same. It takes the traditional Cthulhu rules and mythos and inserts them into the blood, guts, and glory of the American Old West, with new mysteries and new options for investigators that tie into the setting! Gameplay is asynchronous over Discord text, with the Keeper updating the narrative at least twice a day. This system is perfect for those with busy schedules who cannot sit down and play live at a table for 3-4 hours per week.

Gameplay details

Content warnings detail items that are likely to appear in the game. Part of our Session 0 will involve discussing our table's lines, veils, and other content that we may wish to avoid. Players who join mid-game should discuss these topics with me during weekly office hours. There are certain themes too central to the setting for the Keeper to realistically avoid. Call of Cthulhu frequently deals with body horror and mental illness, while the Western setting is filled with alcohol, guns, and violence. Tabletop role-playing games are meant to be an escape from the troubles of our daily lives. Above-table prejudices, including racism, misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia are NOT acceptable at my table and will lead to your immediate removal.
