About the adventure

LOK'TAR OGAR! FOR THE HORDE! The Third War is over. Thrall has established a new homeland in Durotar, but the Horde's future remains uncertain. The Alliance watches from across the sea, old enemies threaten Azeroth, and a far greater darkness is stirring. FOR THE HORDE! is a long-term, Horde-only D&D campaign set in the world of Warcraft. Begin as an unknown adventurer and forge your own legend through iconic locations and classic dungeons, from the deserts of Kalimdor to the frozen wastes of Northrend. But this is not a retelling of World of Warcraft. Your decisions can rewrite its history. Save those destined to die, turn enemies into allies, and change the fate of Azeroth itself. Built by a lifelong Warcraft fan with thousands of hours across Warcraft III, World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone, this campaign is my love letter to the world I grew up exploring. No Warcraft knowledge required. Session 0 is free. FOR THE HORDE!

About me

Hello adventurers, I’m Ted! I am a full-time professional Dungeon Master with over 1000 sessions of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition experience. I began running games professionally in 2021, but my love for tabletop roleplaying started long before that around real tables with close friends. That sense of camaraderie, immersion, and shared storytelling is something I strive to bring into every campaign I run online. I specialize in long-term, character-driven adventures where player choices matter and the world reacts naturally to the party’s actions. Whether you’re exploring cursed lands, navigating political intrigue, or facing impossible moral decisions, I aim to make every session feel memorable and emotionally engaging. Being Greek born and raised has also given me an unexpected advantage as a DM: my NPCs naturally carry the flavor and atmosphere of old-world fantasy settings, especially in darker and gothic campaigns such as Curse of Strahd. I primarily run official Wizards of the Coast adventures, though I’m always open to preparing additional material or custom experiences for dedicated groups. Above all else, I value consistency, communication, and creating a table where players feel comfortable investing in both their characters and the story. My goal is not simply to run a game, but to build a campaign players genuinely look forward to every week. I would be honored to guide your next adventure.

Character creation

Creating your character

HORDE CHARACTERS ONLY! We will begin at Level 1 and create characters together during Session 0, which is completely free. Characters will be created directly on Roll20. We will roll for ability scores using a group array, meaning everyone will use the same set of rolled stats. The exact method will be explained and rolled together during Session 0. We'll also use Session 0 to establish character concepts, connect the party to the Horde and the setting, discuss available character options, and make sure everyone is ready before the campaign begins.

The current party

This is a new, Horde-only campaign, so the party has not been formed yet! All players will begin at level 1, with character creation and party composition discussed during our free Session 0. All experience levels are welcome, including players unfamiliar with Warcraft. You're encouraged to create characters with personal goals and reasons to work together. There are no required classes or party roles, so play whatever excites you!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

https://roll20.net/ https://discord.com/ https://syrinscape.com/online/ I'll be forwarding the Discord link as soon as possible by a private message here on StartPlaying. When you join the server, please take the time to read my Lines, Veils and Rules that I have posted there. If you agree to everything, or if you have any questions, send me a direct Discord message. I'll assign to you the role for the private "Warcraft" channel, as well as my general "Tavern" channel that is accessible for players for all my campaigns.

What Ted the DM brings to the table

I have an Elite account on Roll20, as well as all core rulebooks that I can share with my players. I am very proficient with scripts and macros on Roll20 that speed up combat a ton. Music and ambience will be streamed from Syrinscape Online Player.

Safety

How Ted the DM creates a safe table

On Session 0 we will discuss the rulings we will follow, introduce ourselves, decide on the party composition and go over the way the campaign works. We will roll for stats, but everyone will use the array we roll. If the rolls are bad we will go with point-buy/standard array for all. We will use the "X, N and O" cards on Roll20. Players can expect a fast paced and rules light gaming experience. This specific campaign is highly comedic at times.
