About the adventure
Inspired by Kenshi, KOTOR 1&2, Dune, Snowpiercer & CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS... A play-tested and player approved homebrew STAR WARS 5e CAMPAIGN! • ROLEPLAY FOCUS: Guaranteed backstory / NPC integration into the world and plot. Special care taken to facilitate character growth and party bonds. FULL voice acting of ALL NPC's, most of which have bonds, flaws, goals and backstories of their own. • EMERGENT SANDBOX: Take the jobs you want, make enemies, build relationships, and earn a reputation. Corporations, bounty hunters, rebels, Imperials, criminals, scavengers, and rival Bone Runners all have agendas of their own in a living world that WILL react to your choices. • TWO WORLDS TO EXPLORE: Navigate the shadowy underworld politics of the lower Eternal City, or take your chances in the Scraplands. Scavenge and quest in starship graveyards, Rakatan ruins, rogue droid settlements, criminal strongholds and more. • TACTICAL COMBAT INSPIRED BY CYBERPUNK RED: Using a certain style of fast paced encounter design, a few homebrew rules and the heavy itemization and customization allowed by SW5e, you can expect a satisfying level of crunch in every combat. The people of ALU'DELAR say the Jedi killed this world. Killed isn't a strong enough word. A catastrophic attack poisoned its atmosphere, boiled away its waters, and buried entire regions beneath mountains of shattered Republic and Separatist warships. Today, toxic carbonite fog blankets the horizon, calcifying settlements and old tech while rogue droids stalk the wastes, searching for sources of power. Duchess EMRA ALU DENAIS watches over it all from the tallest tower of the ETERNAL CITY, a paradise amongst the grime, protected by colossal walls and weather-control arrays. Beneath her watchful gaze, nobles and corporate elites live beneath artificial blue skies. Far below, millions scrape together a living among factories, cantinas, black markets, megabuildings, and streets that haven't seen natural sunlight in decades. And with only ONE SPACEPORT serving the entire Eternal City, nobody gets on or off Alu'Delar without the Duchess knowing about it. You're tired of the life you've been living. Maybe you're the prodigal child of a Trandoshan war family sworn to the Duchess. Maybe you're a scrap-rat from the lower city, a mercenary looking for credits, a droid searching for purpose, a fugitive Force-user, or an off-worlder who made the mistake of getting stranded on this scrap heap. Whatever brought you here, WELCOME TO THE BONE RUNNERS. Beginning as a ragtag crew of scavengers, gunslingers, outcasts, mercenaries, droids, fugitives, and desperate souls looking for their next handful of credits, you've arrived at the DRY CIRCUITS CANTINA with a lead that might finally put you on the path to getting off-world. Take contracts. Hunt lost technology. Defend your loot. Brave the Scraplands. Just take care, as some secrets were never meant to be unearthed. FREE SESSION 0 + HELP WITH CHARACTER CREATION!

About me
Do you crave dark fantasy, and gritty science fiction? Do you want to dream of carving your mark across a living world inspired by Malazan, A Song of Ice and Fire, The Elder Scrolls, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses? Are you looking for tactical combat, meaningful player choice, and cinematic roleplay with real stakes? Then you’re in the right place. First of all, thank you for taking the time to check out my table. My name is Daniel, and I’m a creative writing major with over 10 years of Game Master experience and a background in semi-professional voice acting. Storytelling has always been one of my greatest passions, and few things excite me more than building unforgettable adventures alongside a group of players who are just as excited as I am about telling an meaningful story. I first discovered tabletop RPGs back in college through a close friend, and immediately fell in love with the blend of collaborative storytelling, strategy, performance, and worldbuilding they offered. Within a month, I became the forever DM for my group, and I’ve been running games ever since. I have taught the game to at least 20 of my own friends and strangers over the years, so if you have even a remote interest in the hobby, I'd be happy to guide you along! As a Game Master, I focus heavily on immersive, reactive storytelling. My worlds are built to feel alive. Every NPC has their own goals, beliefs, fears, and history. The world existed before your characters arrived, and its denizens will continue fighting long after they leave. I aim to strike a strong balance between top class cinematic storytelling, challenging tactical combat, meaningful roleplay, and player freedom. To me, combat facilitates engagement with your character and their sheet, and allows for another layer of roleplay and narrative immersion. As such, I try to present a challenge that feels realistic to the stakes of the story at hand. I look to challenge, not to kill my party, but sometimes combat CAN be lethal! I reward creativity, ambition, and out-of-the-box thinking just as much as careful planning and mechanical mastery. Whether you want political intrigue, desperate battles, emotional character arcs, or morally gray decision-making, I want your story to feel personal and alive. At my table, player agency comes first. I aim to present a living world that reacts to the decisions you make within it. Whether we're playing in Pthurelia or Star Wars, Every action you take carries a ripple that affects nearly a dozen detailed in-game factions. I run both a weekly "ANDOR" inspired Star Wars adventure, as well a gritty, ASOIAF-esque homebrew adventure. If any of this interests you, I'd be happy to be your DM or take any questions! I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Creating your character
We will have a free session 0 where we discuss expectations, rules and begin the character creation process. I will set aside time to personally help you build your characters both mechanically and narratively, so that you feel at home within the world. We use 4d6 drop the lowest when determining stats, and I allow players to roll three times and choose their preferred set. I want your characters to feel heroic and capable, as the challenges they will face may seem daunting at times. We will be using Star Wars 5e, a highly praised and extensively tested total conversion of the base d&d 5e system. All materials are available on SW5e.com
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Materials required: A roll20 account, a discord account, a reliable microphone and internet connection. Provided by me: Music (via a music application I pay for on discord), maps, character art, and much more.
What Dan Whills It brings to the table
I run a highly cinematic, player-choice driven campaign where every non-player character is voiced, and every decision matters. I like to set scenes using art and music, and I have a backup contingency for nearly every possible hiccup or unforeseen circumstance. I want you to feel immersed in the world, and that includes having realistic consequences and rewards for your actions. I run my game on Roll20 using a pro subscription with maps and assets I've purchased / created over the years.
Homebrew rules
Built in CHASSIS system in every weapon and suit of armor allowing for up to 3 upgrades with varying material and time costs depending on the level of the enhanced (magic) item. I'll be including a lot of fun little upgrades to tinker with that you can find out in the scraplands.

Safety
How Dan Whills It creates a safe table
I run a 0 tolerance policy when it comes to bullying, harassment or abuse of any kind. Open, friendly discussions in good faith are always welcome, as are constructive criticisms of the any part of the campaign that I run. I will ask that players privately submit me a list of "off-limits" topics, and I will ask the party to respect that list. We are all here to have fun, and enjoy a little slice of Star Wars fantasy. Be kind, fair and mature to one another and we'll all get along great. The topics in this game will be heavy, as we're telling a very mature, realistic story that just so happens to be set in a fictional world. If the themes and topics seen in shows like ANDOR or DUNE make you uncomfortable, then unfortunately, this may not be the game for you. I offer X, N and O cards during a session and will always check in after each session to make sure everything is going okay.
