About the adventure
THE MOON HAS FALLEN. THE LIGHT IS FADING. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG? Welcome to the World of Fog, where civilization clings to the light, monsters lurk in the mist, and the people tasked with saving humanity are a collection of questionable adventurers with even more questionable survival instincts. Phareflaw Lighthouse has gone dark. Without its protective light, ships risk destruction along the treacherous coast, and the surrounding wilderness belongs to the horrors of the Unknown. That's where you come in. You've been hired to reach the lighthouse, discover what happened, clear out anything unpleasant, and get the light working again. Preferably before the end of spring. Armed with strange technology, powerful abilities, a handful of lanterns, and whatever common sense you haven't already misplaced, you'll venture beyond civilization into a world that is equal parts horrifying and ridiculous. EXPECT: • Eldritch horrors, bizarre creatures, and dark comedy. • Exploration through a dangerous, fog-shrouded wilderness. • Tactical combat and creative problem-solving. • Strange technology and even stranger people. • A desperate mission to restore the light. • An introduction to a brand-new tabletop RPG. • Keep the light. Brave the Unknown. Save us all! No experience with Time Without Tide is necessary. This is a beginner-friendly Quickstart adventure featuring ready-to-play characters. Come prepared to learn, experiment, and embrace a little mirth with your misery.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi, I’m Rob. I’ve been running tabletop RPGs for more than 17 years and have hosted over 120 games on StartPlaying. What I Run Daggerheart is my current system of choice. I also run Legend in the Mist, OSR games, Tales of the Valiant, and D&D 5e. My games cover a range of fantasy genres, including cozy fantasy, dark fantasy, nobledark, and grimdark. Most of my games take place in Taeval, my system-agnostic fantasy world. A Player’s Guide is available for anyone who wants to explore the setting before joining a game. What to Expect My games are character-driven and roleplay-forward, but they aren’t short on danger. I enjoy complicated relationships, difficult choices, dangerous fights, questionable bargains, and letting player decisions change the direction of the story. New players are welcome. I teach systems through play and provide guidance without turning the session into a lecture. I use Foundry VTT, Zoom, and Discord. My tables are inclusive and collaborative. Everyone is expected to share the spotlight, communicate openly, and treat one another with respect. Adventures by Request Private one-shots and campaigns are available for groups, duos, and individual players. All prices are per player, per session. * One-shots: $20 * Campaigns: $25 * Duos—two players: $25 for one-shots | $30 for campaigns * Duets—one player: $30 for one-shots | $35 for campaigns Custom Adventure Request Form: https://forms.gle/quHRe6qDiGqi2eQc9

What to expect
Preparing for the session
New players welcome! This session is designed to introduce you to Time Without Tide. No previous experience or rulebook purchase is required. We'll use the official pregenerated characters, the Dowsing Odd, so you can jump straight into the adventure. I'll introduce the rules as we play, including building dice pools, using your abilities, surviving combat, and keeping the Unknown at bay. Bring your curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and a healthy appreciation for dark humor.
What Rob Duke brings to the table
I embrace creative solutions and reward clever thinking, but I also respect the rules that make each game unique. Expect meaningful choices, dangerous encounters, plenty of opportunities to get yourself into trouble, and the freedom to approach challenges your own way. I'll provide the virtual tabletop, pregenerated characters, game materials, maps, and everything you need to get started.

How Rob Duke creates a safe table
Your comfort and enjoyment come first. My tables are welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative, with clear expectations and open communication. Before we play, we'll review content warnings and establish boundaries using Lines and Veils. We'll also use an open-door policy, regular breaks, and debriefings. Anyone can pause the game or step away without explanation. Content warnings: Eldritch horror, body horror, mutations, violence, death, disturbing creatures, and dark humor.
