About the adventure
Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall presents a campaign in which the player characters are agents in Operation Deadfall. They undertake a series of clandestine missions to undermine and defeat Szass Tam before he can unleash a horde of demonic undead that would decimate Thay. If the operation is discovered, Szass Tam will kill the characters and everyone they love. Operation Deadfall combines the heart-pumping excitement of an action-based spy thriller with the high-fantasy, magic-steeped gameplay that defines Dungeons & Dragons. Player characters will reach level 20 by the adventure’s end—and they will need to use all their power and resources if they hope to defeat Szass Tam.

About me
Header art by Xy https://twitter.com/xylavie Howdy there! I am a professional actor with experience in both voice-over as well as musical theatre! My hobbies outside of TTRPGs include video games, and singing. I've completed 16 campaigns (ten modules, four level 1/3-20 campaigns, and two home-games), ran 1,100+ sessions online and in person, and I have 8,500+ hours on Roll20 since 2018. A taste of my voice acting range: https://www.kevincouto.com/ A feel of my tables: https://youtu.be/_zBgfGHD35w My Stream Clone Wars Campaign: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnhAe1iC6P5AaXONG1s_6BQY6QVW2vC2F I started playing tabletops with D&D around late 2017 and fell in love with it. As time has gone on, I've learned my way around more systems and my friends were encouraging me to dive into DMing for them, and here we are now! I currently run a Star Wars 5e stream campaign set during the Clone Wars called "Revenge of the Crit" that's over 90 episodes and counting. My favorite thing about DMing is being able to collaborate and come up with a compelling and fun story with a variety of players. It's also a great outlet for me to practice all these voices and storytelling. I am all about making a campaign experience not only suited for the group but will also leave everyone satisfied. Most of my experience running and playing is with either D&D 5e or Star Wars 5e so either of those systems would be the systems I use for the games I offer. I look forward to sharing memories with you at the table! ❤️

Creating your character
Anything from the official source books is fine, all homebrew is subject to my approval. Refer to the game notes for current character level and starting magic items. For the start of this adventure Characters are at Level: 11 Starting Items include: - 5,000 gp plus 1d10 × 250 GP (can be used for healing potions, arcane components, or any mundane items with a cost) normal starting equipment - 2 Common, 3 Uncommon, 1 Rare Magic Item For generating stats, you may use either standard array, point buy, or one of the additional following options: 7·9·11·12·15·18 8·9·11·13·15·17 5·6·8·16·17·18 7·9·10·14·16·16 Backstories can be however long you wish, preferably not more than 2 paragraphs. A google doc, word doc, or however you wish to write it, long as is it pinned in our personal DMs for me to revisit should I need to. For HP you may take the average or roll for it. I allow rerolls on 1s and 2s
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a decent quality Mic, Discord, a D&D beyond account, and Roll20. No additional software is necessary. Players can roll physical or digital dice (though digital is slightly prefered). A character sheet via dnd beyond or roll20 is required.
What Kevin Couto brings to the table
I will provide maps for when combat is occurring, at all other times we will use theatre of the mind. I also use a music bot to add further immersion in various scenes. I also provide quality voice performances to enhance the characters, monsters, and environment.
Homebrew rules
- Drinking a potion for yourself can be an action or bonus action. Force feeding a potion to an ally is an action. - Any healing from spells (with a casting time of one action) or potions outside of combat is automatically maxed. - Grapple checks use Athletics v Athletics OR Acrobatics not STR or DEX Saves. - Flanking grants a +2 bonus to the attack rolls, not advantage on attack rolls. You cannot gain the flanking bonus if your adjacent ally has a negative condition. - Silvery Barbs and Simulacrum are banned from use. - The Legacy version of Inflict Wounds is ok to use with 2024 rules. - Stealth checks are made at a point in time when you can be caught, not before. - Multiclassing prerequisites can be ignored. - Any 3rd party homebrew material is not allowed without express permission. - Milestone leveling.

How Kevin Couto creates a safe table
I will provide a Consent form as well as a Session 0 Checklist for the player to send back to me so that I am aware of any do's and dont's for sessions. In the session 0 we will go over details such as what the party might have been up to prior to the start of the adventure.
