About the adventure
Welcome to The Queen’s Goblet, a rowdy, sea-sprayed tavern nestled at the edge of land and legend. Owned by a retired pirate queen with a flair for theatrics and a cellar full of secrets, this cozy but chaotic inn is a gathering place for adventurers, misfits, and mysterious strangers. Tonight, the fire is crackling, the drinks are flowing, and the regulars are... unusually tense. This one-shot session is perfect for new and curious players looking to dip their toes into online RPGs without worrying about complex rules or long-term commitments. We’ll focus on character-driven roleplay, fun social encounters, and a sprinkle of dramatic tension, because in this tavern, even a peaceful night off can turn into something wild. (Don’t be surprised if a brawl breaks out, a magical mishap unfolds, or a long-lost rival walks through the door.) Expect a setting that blends cozy fantasy with high-seas energy - part pub crawl, part pirate story, part magical mystery. You’ll play as an adventurer resting between quests, but make no mistake: the Queen’s Goblet has a way of pulling people into stories whether they want it or not. We’ll guide you through everything you need to know as we go, so no experience is necessary, Just bring your curiosity, your best tavern banter, and a character ready to unwind (or stir up trouble). Whether you’re here to flirt with a fey, make a new ally, or accidentally spark a tavern-wide curse, The Queen’s Goblet always has room at the table. 🛡️ Safety & Tone This game uses safety tools such as Lines & Veils, the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist, and check-ins to ensure everyone feels comfortable and included. The tone is lighthearted with moments of tension or mystery, and players are encouraged to lean into character interactions and collaborative storytelling. All players of all backgrounds are welcome, and neurodivergent-friendly play is actively supported at this table.

About me
I’m a narrative-first Dungeon Master who thrives on character-driven stories, emotional depth, and a healthy dose of chaos. If you love cinematic roleplay, morally complex choices, and a world that evolves with your party’s every misstep and miracle, you’ll feel right at home at my table. I specialise in creating inclusive, immersive experiences where your characters aren’t just adventurers, they’re part of a living, breathing story. Whether you want to redeem a disgraced bloodline, build a cult out of kobolds, or accidentally charm a fey queen with the wrong love potion, I’ll help you make it unforgettable. As a neurodiverse storyteller, I prioritise psychological safety, clear communication, and collaborative worldbuilding. My tables are queer-friendly, player-focused, and built to celebrate your creativity, not constrain it. Let’s tell the kind of story you’ll still be talking about years from now. I am currently accepting offers to run specific campaign modules published on D&DBeyond. Reach out for more info!

Creating your character
For this evening's festivities, you can create any level 3 character using any official Class, Species and Background content available. I highly recommend using the free content on D&DBeyond, because it is easy to use. BUT you may use any character sheet tool you prefer. Use the Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) to define your character's abilities. Whatever their origins, they are pretty average people. Please ensure that any build-related queries are resolved with the DM before the start of the session. This can be done via Direct Message on SPG or Discord. If your character sheet is not finalised at the start of the session, you will have to play with it as-is.

What Kate (Mask of Many Faces) brings to the table
As your Dungeon Master for this session, you can expect an immersive experience that balances roleplay, atmosphere, and intense tactical combat. I use character voices and ambient music to bring the world to life and help you step into the scene. Combat encounters are randomized and dynamic, designed to challenge your strategy and adaptability. I generally stick to the Rules as Written for consistency and fairness, but I’m always open to bending the rules when a clever or cinematic roleplay moment earns it. Whether you're here to laugh, scheme, or throw a fireball into a barfight, you're in for a good time. I have enabled "solo mode" so if only 1 person signs up, the session can go ahead. This will hopefully create a space for people to test out character builds and mechanics in a low-pressure environment.
Homebrew rules
For this session, rules such as "flanking" and other custom mechanics will not be used.

How Kate (Mask of Many Faces) creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are a top priority at my table. I use the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist during player signup to help identify preferences and boundaries, and compile the results into a Lines and Veils document that is shared with everyone before the session. During the game, I use regular check-ins to monitor how players are feeling. I maintain a clear and open-door policy. If something’s not working for you, we’ll pause, adjust, and move forward together. This is a space for collaborative storytelling, and everyone’s well-being matters.
