About the adventure

The people of the Northlands have always lived by the sea. Longships cross the straits carrying traders, raiders, explorers, and warriors seeking wealth and glory, while old stories warn of what waits beyond the firelight and beneath the waves. Lately, those stories have begun to feel less like legends. Ships are disappearing. Creatures are abandoning waters they have claimed for generations. Strange relics are surfacing from forgotten places, and whispers spread from one settlement to another that something in the North is changing. Your saga begins close to home with rumors of a haunted hall overlooking the sea and a mystery that should have ended with a band of smugglers. Instead, it will put a ship beneath your feet and the Northlands before you. You'll cross dangerous straits, explore forgotten ruins, navigate rival clans and uneasy alliances, hunt monsters, encounter creatures out of legend, and venture farther from familiar shores as seemingly isolated threats reveal pieces of something much larger. The Sea Has Teeth is a Norse-inspired D&D campaign weaving adventures from Ghosts of Saltmarsh and Dragon Delves into a single seafaring saga in the Northlands. Expect a character-focused balance of roleplay, exploration, intrigue, and combat, with recurring NPCs, dangerous journeys, meaningful choices, and problems that rarely have only one solution. Build your crew, earn your reputation, and decide what kind of legend your character leaves behind—because in the Northlands, surviving the sea is only the beginning.

About me

Hi! I've been a player and DM for about two years. I just recently decided to do paid games at the behest of some wonderful people in my life. So here I am.. ready to create fantastical worlds for you to have fun in! My favorite D&D tables have room for all sides of D&D: dramatic character moments and terrible decisions, dangerous battles, and unexpected left turns because someone asked, "Wait.. can I try this?" The ridiculous plan that somehow becomes campaign lore. I have a particular weakness for characters who arrive with stories already tucked into their pockets. Questionable patrons, inconvenient prophecies, old enemies, mysterious scars, and secrets that definitely won't become a problem later. I love rich fantasy worlds and the stories that emerge when characters become part of them. D&D gives us a place to begin. What happens once the characters take over is the fun part.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll use the Standard Array for ability scores. If an option is available through the D&D Beyond campaign link, it's fair game—including partnered content. (Exception: no firearms) Whenever both 2024 and 2014 versions of a class, species, or other character option are available, please use the 2024 version. Backstories are encouraged—there will be plenty of opportunities for your character's history, relationships, and goals to become part of the campaign. You're welcome to create your character before Session 0. We'll use Session 0 to make any final adjustments, establish party connections, and make sure everyone is ready to set sail.

What J1NX (Summer) brings to the table

I provide a character-driven adventure where your choices matter and the world responds to what you do. Expect a healthy mix of roleplay, exploration, intrigue, and combat, supported by high-quality maps, artwork, tokens, and handouts to bring the world to life. I embrace creative solutions, Rule of Cool moments, and the ridiculous plan that somehow works—but choices always have consequences. Most importantly, I provide a welcoming table where everyone gets a chance to contribute, take risks, and have their moment in the spotlight.
