About the adventure

Once every thousand years, the thirteen provinces of Druskenvald must pay their tithe to Death. One offering from every province is gathered and carried aboard the Ghostlight Express as part of an ancient pilgrimage. When all thirteen reach their destination, the rite is completed and the Ghostlight is renewed for another thousand years. This time, something has gone wrong. Four of the thirteen tithes have already been stolen before the pilgrimage can properly begin, and several more are now in danger. With the ritual already threatened, the Ghostlight Express sets out across Druskenvald to recover what has been lost and collect what remains. You board the train for reasons of your own. You might be searching for someone, fleeing something behind you, following a rumour, or simply travelling somewhere only the Ghostlight can reach. Whatever brought you aboard, you soon find yourself caught up in a thousand-year-old ritual, thirteen troubled provinces, and a coven whose members seem determined to interfere with every stage of the pilgrimage. At the first stop, Enoch, the ceremonial crop is finally ready to be harvested. The fields are already burning.

About me

Hi, I'm Dire. I've been playing tabletop RPGs, writing stories, building worlds, and running games for years. The kind of games I enjoy most are ones where the players feel like they genuinely belong in the world and have the freedom to change it. I run a mixture of homebrew adventures, established settings, and games inspired by anime and other media. One Piece, Naruto, Fairy Tail, and similar worlds are particular favourites of mine, but I've also run horror, fantasy, sandbox campaigns, character-driven adventures, and more unusual concepts. Player choice is a big part of how I run games. If the party becomes interested in an NPC I expected to be minor, I'll happily develop them further. If your character wants to start brewing potions, running a garden, building a business, researching monsters, or pursuing something completely unexpected, I'll usually find a way to make it part of the game. I put a lot of work into presentation as well. I build and customise maps, use Foundry VTT extensively, add music and visual elements where appropriate, and regularly experiment with new tools and features that can make the game more immersive or easier to play. I'm also very comfortable working with new players. You don't need to know every rule before joining one of my games. I'm happy to explain mechanics, help with character creation, make reference materials when something is confusing, and work with you to create a character that actually plays the way you imagined. Most importantly, I want players to feel comfortable contributing. Whether you're outgoing, quiet, experienced, completely new, prefer speaking or occasionally need to communicate through text, there should still be room for you at the table.

Creating your character

🛠️ Character Creation 🧾 Comfort & Consent First Before we dive into the world, every player will receive a comfortability sheet (based on the RPG Consent Checklist). This helps identify themes you're comfortable with, wish to avoid, or want to explore carefully. This ensures everyone can enjoy the game in a safe, respectful environment. 👥 Session 0 Character Creation We’ll build characters together during Session 0, where I’ll walk you through the options, help you fit into the world, and answer any questions. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned player. We’ll also discuss tone, themes, party dynamics, and how your characters connect to the story. 📱 DNDBeyond Required: All characters will be built using DNDBeyond, the free and powerful character creation tool that makes building and levelling seamless. I’ll provide guidance and support during setup to make sure everyone is ready to jump into the action.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have a: - Discord account and be willing to join the discord group. - A working mic with a quiet space, but push to talk is also fine. - Stable internet - A PC is required to run foundry, no account or purchase required (if you haven't used foundry before, let me know, and I can do a tester to let you see how your pc would handle foundry) - DNDBeyond Account, which is free to create one.
