About the adventure

The road ahead disappears beneath a thick, unnatural mist. Behind you, the world you knew fades into silence. Before you lies Barovia, a land where the sun rarely shines, wolves stalk the forests, and the dead seldom rest peacefully. Its people live in fear of one name: Count Strahd von Zarovich. From his towering castle, the ancient vampire watches over his domain, an immortal tyrant whose desires have doomed generations. You are strangers in his land, drawn here by forces you do not yet understand. The roads are treacherous, the villagers desperate, and even your closest allies may harbour terrible secrets. Somewhere in the darkness, a pair of crimson eyes watches your every move. Welcome to Barovia. The Devil Strahd has invited you to dinner. And he does not intend to let you leave.

About me

Hi, I'm Dale. I have been DMing D&D for 6 years and have loved every minute of gaming I have had. Last year I decided to take a break from DMing (and took some time to play instead!), but I'm back now with more ideas than ever! I run D&D 2014 and 2024, and I'm looking at doing some Discworld, too, in the near future. I would definitely consider my style of DMing to be reactive to the story and rule of cool over the written rule. I have a special interest in the Napoleonic wars, and quite a lot of my oneshots have their roots in it, I look forward to making some memories with you all

What D B brings to the table

Rule of cool over rules as written, im human i do get things wrong if its quick to solve bring it up during the session if its not speak to me after, i will happily admit if im wrong, you can do voice if you want, i do but im not great at them if im honest

Homebrew rules

drinking or "feeding" a healing potion is a bonus action, critical 1 is a critical 1 there is no escape from it even for me, i round up not down but this is across the board so you get the benefit too. Critical hits are damage dice doubled with modifer on top (so for example 2d8 damage as a crit would be 2+6=8 +8= 16 +3= 19 damage)
