About the adventure
From the publishers of Call of Cthulhu comes a brand-new tabletop RPG experience; a fresh, original IP featuring a flexible D6 dice pool system. Time Without Tide is set in a faux-Victorian, post-apocalyptic world surrounded by a mutating fog called the Unknown, which warps everything not protected by magical, warding light. Even worse, the monsters lurking in that fog present a clear and present danger to you and your home. In the city of Saltport, the last known bastion of civilization, smoggy factories and inept bureaucracy barely keep things going. You will take on the role of a Delver: a mercenary adventurer, and the last best hope to turn back the tide or be devoured by it. Contracted by the Saltport Council to reignite the light of the Phareflaw Lighthouse, the Delver's Guild sends only their best: the Dowsing Odd crew stands ready and willing to serve... as long as the lunar dust, remnants of the fallen moon and the official currency of the age, is right. Aided by Captain McAlgae aboard her ship, the Riverboat Drastic, what will our Delvers discover in the Phareflaw region? Will they be successful in their objective to relight the lighthouse, restoring the warding light and banishing the fog that consumes the land? What to expect at my table: • Learn by Playing: Since this is a brand-new game, no prior knowledge of the rules or setting is expected! We will walk through the game mechanics step-by-step in a patient, welcoming environment. • Ready-to-Play Characters: No book or preparation required. I provide fully built, pre-generated Delvers from the Dowsing Odd crew so you can jump straight into the story. • Browser-Based Gameplay: We play using Foundry VTT. You don't need to download any software; you just click the link and play right in your web browser.

About me
I am an experienced DM / GM that has loved tabletop RPG's all my life. It is my hope, if I were to be your DM / GM, that you will have a fun, meaningful, worthwhile experience that will deeply resonate with you. I do personally prefer DM-ing in person; for me, there is magic in the air gaming in person. But obviously, we are here to play virtually to better accommodate everyone's busy schedules, and that is perfectly fine! Also, I run a PG-13 game, so less HBO's Game of Thrones and more Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings. If you made it this far, thank you for your time and consideration! Take care, and well wishes to everyone that reads this.

What Chris brings to the table
My GM Style & What I Provide • The Flow: I have come to believe that GM style is unique to everyone who has done this for a while. My style focuses on strong pacing and an immersive atmosphere. Specific to Time Without Tide, I endeavor to lean heavily into the unique steampunk aesthetic. We will balance dangerous investigation with a mission that to serve the greater good and improve the odds of survival for all that remain. • Immersion: I utilize a mix of third-person narration, and first-person character voices for NPC's and monsters. Also, I will play music in the background for ambience, and to set the mood for our Delver's as the adventure unfolds. • The Rules: I enjoy utilizing the "Rule of Cool,” and feel certain that will come up as we explore Time Without Tide together. I ultimately believe less in strict, unyielding textbook rules and more in flexible, fair rulings to keep the game fun and moving forward, regardless of the system used. • The Software: You will be provided access to a cloud-hosted Foundry VTT game world. It will feature tokens, and color maps, so that everyone can focus entirely on the contract the Delver's are tasked with.

How Chris creates a safe table
Table Tone & Safety Tools • Tone: Based on Chaosium's upcoming new tabletop roleplaying game, Time Without Tide, there are elements of horror, certainly some violence, weird science, odd characters, and so much more. But there are really no extremes of any particular thing to be concerned about, both in the game and in my presentation, other than the violence involved in fighting off monsters and preserving the light. • Lines & Veils: Extremely explicit horror elements, such as extreme gore and gratuitous violence, are hard lines that I will not cross. Anything questionable or uncomfortable will cleanly "fade-to-black" (veiled) to keep the focus entirely on the adventure at hand. • The X, N, and O Cards: There is a module for Foundry VTT that allows for displaying the X and N cards (though O is curiously absent.) I will instruct my players how to use this module before the session begins. I will also let everyone know they can also type X, N, or O directly into Foundry's chat box, and I will adapt the scene as necessary, no questions asked, and keep the story moving forward. • Breaks: Having run quite a bit of tabletop RPG's at conventions, I admit that I am used to running through sessions without taking a break. However, I will make it clear to my players that if a break is needed, just let me know, and we will take one immediately. • Stars & Wishes: I intend to close every session with a quick feedback loop. Players will get to share their 'Stars' and 'Wishes'. I'm looking forward to this quite a bit!
