About the adventure

Five hundred years ago, the ten greatest heroes the Nine Worlds had ever produced walked the Rainbow Road together and broke the world while trying to save it. The portal they opened was meant to seal the Underworld forever. What came through instead was everything that lives there, and what followed was called the Apocalypse. The celestials who built the Nine Worlds survived, as did the Worlds themselves and their mortal residents, but only barely. The Road closed. The Worlds fell into isolation. The heroes who lived scattered to their respective realms and have not been heard from since. You are a resident of Nexus — the hub world, the center of the system, the continent suspended in the ethereal mists at the crossroads of everything the Nine Worlds were built to be. The Rainbow Road's eight gateways ring the continent's perimeter, dark and silent, maintained by a five-century-old king who has not given up on them. Demons raid the city on a basis that’s become almost predictable. The power of Heaven remains - you can see it in the daytime sky above you - but the gods who live there have not spoken in living memory. The Oracle still speaks however, for those with the courage to seek her out, and for the first time in half a millennium she has made a pronouncement unbidden: a new generation of heroes will again walk the Rainbow Road and restore that which was lost, and those heroes live among us now. Somewhere in the structure of the Road itself, woven into its foundations by those who built it, the Song of Heaven is waiting. But the Song will not be heard again until its remnants can be collected from the places of power in each of the Outer Worlds by those brave enough to seek them out. The Road cannot reopen on its own, someone has to walk it. --- Rainbow Road is an adventure path designed for Pathfinder 1st Edition. During the course of this adventure your characters will walk the eponymous Rainbow Road, advancing from level 1 through level 20 as you explore the Nine Worlds and try to set right what once went wrong. As you travel to each of these worlds and discover their places of power, your characters will gain ten mythic tiers, the power the gods of these worlds invest in you to help see your mission through.

About me

I got a copy of the original D&D Rules Cyclopedia for my 12th birthday and I've been hooked ever since. In the more than 30 years between now and then I've run and played in hundreds of games across dozens of systems, and loved them all. At heart I am a storyteller and believe than any good story should be told together. I am very excited to finally bring my decades of experience to the virtual table top environment. Having played in multiple campaigns over the past few years I've been very excited to see how technology has had such a huge and positive impact on the world of gaming. In addition to my TTRPG chops I also bring years of professional technology experience to the table and aim to create a fully immersive environment for everyone to enjoy.

Character creation

Creating your character

Nexus, the hub world of the Nine Worlds has always been a cosmopolitan place, attracting races from across the planes. As a character in this campaign you may select any standard racial background from the Pathfinder system. Magitek Focused This campaign makes use of a custom ruleset for magitek, engineering that makes use of a mix of magic and technology. Magitek items, weapons, and infrastructure can be found throughout the Nine Worlds. Players have the option to learn to create and use these magitek devices. This campaign also includes a number of custom archetypes for Pathfinder character classes, including: - Demon Hunter (Vampire Hunter) - Knight of the Host (Paladin) - Magitek Artificer (Alchemist) - Magitek Engineer (Wizard) - Magitek Marksman (Gunslinger) - Magitek Soldier (Fighter) - Magitek Warrior (Magus) - Nexian Ranger (Ranger) - Mythic Hero Bloodline (Sorcerer) --- You can create your character prior to the start of the campaign if you choose to do so. All characters start at level 1. We will be working through character creation as a group during Session 0 as well. The player's guide specific to this campaign contains specific options for character creations including racial paths, character class options, and custom backgrounds. It is highly recommended that all players review the guide prior to Session 0. I am available for consultation at any time via Discord to help you with any character or setting questions whatsoever, and will happily make time to meet with you prior to session 0 to help you build your character directly. Once you've been added to the Foundry server for the campaign you will also notice a number of exemplar characters I have created for use with the campaign. You can feel free to use these characters as a model for how to build yours. These exemplar characters are also available for you to use as your PCs for the campaign, with or without modifications. Player's Guide: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wnv3qBCB_6vFTqi3w9CzWhG8CihJZVtw/view?usp=sharing You can use the 25 point buy method for your character's stats. Here's a handy tool to help with this: https://pittsburghpfs.com/resources/point-buy-calculator/ Any Pazio character options from the Pathfinder System Resource Document are valid. Please check with me before using any content from 3rd party publishers. https://www.d20pfsrd.com/

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Make sure you have a Foundry and a Discord account prior to Session 0. Friendly reminder that these are all free to use software, so don't believe anyone who tries to charge you for them. I strongly advise you to read through the player's guide (provided above) to familiarize yourself with this unique world set in the Pathfinder multiverse.

What Nicky Perfect brings to the table

We will be meeting via Discord and playing on Foundry. Music, images, tokens, and animations will be provided for an immersive experience. I'm very happy to help with creating your character and using the standard character sheet, including customizations which can be found in the items sidebar. I create a custom Discord server for each of my games - you will receive an invite to this and Foundry once you join.

Homebrew rules

House rules that the group decides on or special rules specific to the campaign will be discussed in Session 0 and posted to the Discord prior to Session 1. There are two optional rules that I use in all of my campaigns: 1) The antihero rule - grants an additional feat at first level for all characters. 2) Unchained Skills - Allows characters to select 2 background skills per level in addition to their main adventuring skills. This rule can be automatically tracked on the character sheet we use by clicking on settings, and then checking the box next to display/enable unchained skills in the rules options section.

Safety

How Nicky Perfect creates a safe table

A document including agreed upon lines and veils along with a safety checklist will be sent to all players after Session 0, and before Session 1. Discussion of safety features will be a main focus of session 0. I will provide players with digital safety cards to use in the VTT environment. We will take a scheduled 10 minute break at the halfway mark of each session. Additional breaks can be provided if required and/or agreed upon as part of our campaign planning. I will also be checking in regularly with players outside of sessions via Discord for Stars and Wishes discussions, both individually and as a group.
