About the adventure

The desert remembers its dead. Beyond the blazing dunes lies Kirat, a land shaped by divine failure and buried empires. At its heart stands Al’Kirat, a ruthless, radiant city where gold is law, contracts bind tighter than chains, and freedom is just another thing that can be bought—or lost. Outside the walls wait cursed ruins, undead sands, and relics of gods who should have stayed buried. Something ancient has begun to stir beneath the dunes. The past is clawing its way back into the present, and the desert is running out of patience. Will you chase power, survival, or truth in a land that offers no mercy? Will you carve your legacy into the sand—or be swallowed by it? Welcome to the Sands of Doom.

About me

Hi I'm Luna, 27, and go by she/her. Absolutely addicted to manhua and anything cultivation related lol. I've been a player of d&d for close to 9 years at this point, and GMing professionally for over a year now alongside friends and family through vtt's like roll20 and foundry. If you decide to join one of my worlds I can guarantee that you will have a blast at any of my tables, with fully alive worlds, and plenty of roleplay and interactions to be found in every corner. This guarantee is one of the few things i pride myself on. So much so that ill happily offer a full refund for the session, if anyone isn't enjoying themselves/ the world.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be starting at lvl 1 over on roll20. As for character creation, we can schedule a time that fits your schedule and do introductions, discuss personal goals and desires for what you want to see in the campaign, and then get at least a basic outline for the character you would like to play. Once everyone has their characters decided and we have enough people to start, we will then have session 0 on the following available week. During the session 0 everyone can introduce themselves at the table, go over what they are playing. Then to wrap it up, I like to make sure everyone is okay with the themes, and understands how the safety systems work and run a small adventure for the group if everyone is up for it.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Should have a discord/roll20 account made, and at least an okay computer/internet.

What Azalea ravenwood brings to the table

I bring the books, Utilize ambient music to make a good atmosphere, and try my best with voices. Personally love the rule of cool, and prefer a healthy mix of mostly rules as written but depending on the mood/atmosphere a little bit of rule of cool helps make everyone feel more epic/important during those more dire moments.

Homebrew rules

Drinking a healing potion using a bonus action means you roll for HP. Taking full action gets you the full effect. No roll is required. No PvP or stealing between party members unless both players consent above table. Plot armor doesn't exist. Death can occur permanently from any encounter. Plan accordingly. Anyone can use a spell scroll or world equivalent regardless of class. However, if you already have the spell in your spell list, you can use your spell save DC instead of what is listed in the scroll. Hero's Death: If your character is downed, you can elect to automatically fail all three of your death saves in order to get back up and perform one final action that will automatically crit if a roll is required. If you write a quality journal entry (session notes), you get an inspiration point. 10 second rule: if you can tell me what action you are going to take within 10 seconds of being informed that your turn is up, you will get a +1 to your attack roll. Rule of Cool: I can and absolutely will ignore regular rules in favor of cool shit. A player can also invoke the "rule of cool" once per session if they can provide justification for it. Roll HP increases with an advantage when leveling. You will need it. If you roll a Nat 20 on initiative rolls, you get to choose where you take your place in the initiative tracker. I know a guy: Once per campaign, a player can invoke the "I know a guy" card if they feel stuck or don't know where to go. An NPC will automatically appear to answer one question. Crit hit: If you roll a Nat 20 on an attack roll, maximize your damage for the first roll, then roll again for the second. For example, if your roll damage with a d6, it would be 6+1d6+modifier Devil's Bargain: Immediately after any d20 roll, once per session, a player or the DM can offer a "devil's bargain." If both parties agree to the bargain, then the roll will automatically be turned into a Nat1 or an Nat20, whichever is more advantageous to the invoker of the bargain. Power of friendship: Once per session, all of the players can give one other player inspiration if they all agree that the player in question just did something really cool or had a great RP moment. Inspiration can also be given for good RP in the RP chat room. Additions to this rule set can be added at any time.

Safety

How Azalea ravenwood creates a safe table

During session 0, I will ask everyone for their lines and vales, explain the X, N, & O cards, as well as doing an aftercare time for every session to get general feedback and what to work on for the next session to make it feel better/safer.
