About the adventure

Set within the popular D&D setting of The Forgotten Realms, you'll begin your adventure within the west coast of Faerun, along the Sword Coast. You'll explore the infamous city of Baldur's Gate and uncover dark conspiracies and secrets that many would like to see hidden and secreted away. It gets worse. You'll, not only be exploring the material, but the immaterial itself as you dive into Avernus - the first layer of hell itself. As you can imagine, your journey will be challenging, dangerous, and unforgiving. One false move can spell disaster, but for those willing to make deals with devils... There is also a bargain to make.

About me

Yo! I'm a university English teacher living in Vietnam. I have more than a decade of experience as a DM and love to create living, breathing game worlds that create fascinating narratives and fun narratives for my players. Outside of DND, you can find me painting miniatures, writing, or lifting some weights!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be done during session 0, where we'll go over expectations, rules of character creation, and work together as a group to create fitting characters for a fun campaign.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need Discord, as we will use it for voice and video. The game itself will be run within Foundry VTT, so no additional sign ups are required.

What William brings to the table

You'll enjoy a wide array of music designed for each session and integrated into Foundry VTT. You can also expect me to run a mixture of 'rules as written' and 'rules as intended'. I do not normally bend to far on rule of cool, as I like to maintain a fair, consistent, and even playing field, though I can always be swayed with a good argument.

Homebrew rules

A variety of homebrew rules are in effect in order to help better engage players which will be fully covered in session 0. A brief summary of the key ones: - Drinking a potion is a bonus action. - Attributes can be used in different skill checks depending on situation and context. - Fighters and Barbarians gain limited access to Battle Master maneuvers. - Campfire talk rewards players with inspiration for good discussion and sharing at the end of an adventuring day.
