About the adventure
Children have been disappearing without a trace. When the trail of the latest missing child leads deep into the woods, your search brings you to a secluded village that shouldn't be there. Its residents welcome you with warm meals, friendly smiles, and a place to rest for the night. Yet something about their hospitality feels... wrong. Some villagers smile a little too widely. Others flee at the sight of you, locking their doors and refusing to speak. Strange effigies hang among the trees, unsettling sounds echo through the night, and the deeper you dig into the village's secrets, the more you begin to wonder whether finding the missing children is the only thing you should be worried about. What to Expect: The Clatter of Teeth is a 3rd-level horror mystery one-shot focused on investigation, unsettling discoveries, creepy folklore, exploration, and combat. Follow clues, question the villagers, uncover what lurks beneath this seemingly peaceful community, and survive long enough to put an end to it. Who This Game Is For: Perfect for players who enjoy atmospheric horror, dark fairy tales, mysteries, creepy roleplay, and piecing together clues before the truth is revealed. Beginner-friendly—no previous D&D experience is required.

About me
I’ve been Dungeon Mastering Dungeons & Dragons since 2018, with a passion for creating original adventures where players are encouraged to roleplay, get creative, and make the story their own. Homebrew is at the heart of what I do. Every one-shot, mini-campaign, and short campaign I run is written by me, allowing me to create a wide variety of adventures—from ridiculous comedy and chaotic fun to mysteries, horror, high-stakes action, and everything in between. At my table, my biggest priority is making sure everyone is having fun and gets a chance to participate. I take a flexible approach to the rules and love when players think outside the box. Rather than looking for the "right" solution, I want players to feel comfortable experimenting, making unexpected choices, and seeing where the story takes us. I also design my games to be easy to fit into real life. Not everyone has the time—or wants—to commit to a campaign that could run for the next two years. My one-shots tell a complete adventure in a single session, my mini-campaigns run for just four sessions, and even my longest short campaigns are designed to wrap up within about three months. Whether you have one free night or you're looking for a complete campaign experience without a years-long commitment, my goal is the same: give you a memorable adventure, a complete story, and a table where you can have fun playing D&D.

Creating your character
Adventure Level: This one-shot is designed for 3rd Level characters. Players should have their characters fully created before the session begins, including stats, abilities, and equipment. Characters may be set up in Roll20 or on another platform. If your character is not in Roll20, please send the DM a link or PDF of your character sheet 1–2 hours before the session for review. Please also provide a picture for your character token, or bring your own token, so your character is ready for gameplay. Ability scores use the Standard Array following the D&D 2024 Player’s Handbook rules. Homebrew options are welcome but must be approved by the DM beforehand to ensure balance. New players are welcome! If you need help creating your character, please let the DM know ahead of time so we can get everything ready before the session. If your character is already set up in Roll20, please let the DM know so it can be reviewed and prepared for gameplay.

What Samantha B. brings to the table
I strive to create an immersive and engaging experience where the story comes alive through visuals, sound, and interactive storytelling. I use vivid images, maps, and digital handouts to help you visualize locations, clues, and important objects, allowing you to interact directly with the world. Ambient music and sound effects enhance mood, build tension, and make scenes feel alive, whether subtle background noise or dramatic cues. All NPCs have distinct personalities and voices, making interactions memorable and easy to follow. Combat and encounters use tokens on battle maps, and I embrace the “rule of cool”, encouraging creative solutions and rewarding clever ideas. My table style is laid-back and flexible, focused on keeping the game fun while maintaining engagement. I value clear communication and transparency, keeping players informed about rules, expectations, and story developments. I am punctual and reliable, so sessions start on time, and you can count on a smooth, organized experience. Players can expect a mix of strategic gameplay, immersive storytelling, and interactive problem-solving, all in an environment designed for enjoyment and collaboration. My goal is for everyone to feel included, have fun, and walk away with a memorable adventure.
Homebrew rules
Critical Hits: When you score a critical hit, deal **maximum damage** plus a regular damage roll. Weapons: Switching between weapons is a **free action**, allowing for smooth combat flow. Flanking: When you and an ally are positioned on opposite sides of an enemy, you gain advantage on melee attack rolls against that creature. Chases & Travel: I use streamlined, custom rules to make travel and chase sequences exciting without slowing the game down. Skill Challenges: Custom skill challenges are used to create dynamic, story-driven obstacles. Rules will be explained in-game as needed. Tone & Flexibility: Rules are tools for fun and story, not obstacles. I prioritize enjoyment and narrative, and will adapt or clarify mechanics on the fly to keep the game flowing.

How Samantha B. creates a safe table
I prioritize creating a safe and comfortable space for all players. Communication is always open—players are welcome to reach out to me before, during, or after the session to discuss any concerns. During the game, I include regular breaks of 5 minutes, and I’m happy to extend or add more if needed to ensure everyone stays comfortable and engaged. Before the session begins, I go over rules, expectations, and boundaries, including a Lines and Veils document to set limits for sensitive content. X, N, & O signals can be used digitally (messaged or shown on video) to communicate boundaries during play. After the session, there will be a debrief/check-in to see how everyone is feeling and to provide any needed aftercare, giving space to process intense scenes or discuss anything that came up during the game.My goal is to foster a trusting and open environment where everyone can enjoy the story, engage fully with the adventure, and feel safe exploring the game.
