Creating your character
Character creation should be done before the session begins. When creating your character for the one-shot, there are a few guidelines to keep things running smoothly, balanced, and make sure everyone has a good time: Official D&D Content Only ‼️ Official D&D content is all good to go (including paid content). Homebrew isn't allowed by default, but if there's a homebrew species, subclass, feat, spell, or anything else you'd really like to use, just check with the DM first (either directly or during Session 0). This isn't to kill anyone's fun, it's just a lot easier to keep things balanced when everyone is working from the same set of rules. No Starting Magic Items 💍 Characters don't start with any magic or custom items. (Items with no function for character flavour are okay; eg. sketch of family etc.) Ability Scores ⭐ You can either: Use Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or Point Buy Make a Character Who Wants to Be Part of the Story 😎 Your character doesn't need to be a hero, but they should have a reason to be with the party. The loner mentality is completely fine if it fits your character, but the story is about the group as a whole. Don't Be a Problem for the Party Characters can have flaws, disagreements, and questionable morals, but please don't create a character whose whole gimmick is making life miserable for everyone else. PVP isn't outright banned, but there should be a good roleplay reason for it happening and everyone involved should be engaged in that roleplay. Backstories Keep it very brief. As this is a one-shot, your backstory is should be only a few paragraphs maximum. A good backstory: Who is your character? Where did they come from? What is their main goal/motivation? If You're Unsure, Just Ask If you're not sure whether something is allowed, have a cool character idea that bends the rules a bit, or just want help building a character, feel free to ask. I promise you I'm not trying to stifle your creativity or freedom, it's just about keeping things balanced and fair, so you get the most out of the campaign! 😀

What Cam brings to the table
- Roleplay and NPC interactions - Choice driven story - VTT with immersive music and maps
Homebrew rules
- No encumbrance (within reason, eg. money does not impact your carry weight, but carrying a large stone orb would) - Critical hits and misses - Environment interaction during combat (eg. Fireball in forest = forest fire)
