About the adventure

You were given a gift at your birth by a mysterious fairy godmother - a gift that lets you change the tide of terrible curses or simply charm everyone you meet. You play as princesses (or princes) in a fairytale world where pixies fall prey to curses, peasants grow candy limbs, and fae steal people away to dance forever in a glittering ball. You will survive the cursed wilds, unravel the mystery of the eerie night market, solve the riddle of the candy curse, and fight for a world as charming as it is terrifying. Like fairy-tales of old, the world of this game has witches, curses, dangerous fae, and punishment for hubris. Characters are fragile and combat is dangerous with an expectation that players will use their wits to problem solve. This adventure will cover both the Sweet Revenge and Night Market campaigns for the Perils & Princesses system. Princess is a state of mind - and you can play as any gender with another honorific if you prefer. Perils & Princesses is an easy to learn, rules-light, roll-under D20 system. Don't know what any of that means? - Don't sweat it, you'll pick it up with ease. I fully expect that most if not all of our players will be new to it and we will absolutely teach as we play. It's a real gem of a system with tons of fairytale flavor and very straight forward abilities that have a million different creative possibilities. I love it. I think you will, too.

About me

I run playful games with occasional tactical combat, lots of roleplay, and meaningful consequences. We make stories together and it's a blast. Come for the shenanigans, stay for the friends. I'm a former high school literature/writing teacher and get a kick out of teaching new games to new friends. I'm also a community theater performer and costumer who loves a touch of character in my characters. Come play with me!

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll have a session 0 to discuss character options and help you create characters you're excited about. I also have pre-made characters for those who prefer to jump straight in with what's on hand.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We'll use Discord and Roll20. I will send you the Discord link when the game has enough players to start!

What Lizz brings to the table

I use character voices and music, which you can turn up or down according to your own preferences. I stick pretty close to rules as written, but if I need to make an unclear ruling on the fly, I try to do that quickly and look it up later. We can always fix it for next time if needed. It's more important to me that the game keeps its momentum. I also prompt roleplaying in my players, asking you to tell us what your magic looks like, what your character is thinking or feeling, or what you see in the world. I find engaging in this way helps us build a richer story together.
