About the adventure
This is a no-pressure, chill-vibes video call (or audio only if you prefer) where I’ll walk you through everything you need to know to play D&D. We’ll create a character together, learn the basics, and then play the game together, just you and me. The best Dungeons & Dragons games are about having fun, rolling dice, and telling an unforgettable story with friends. However, jumping into a group with total strangers can be scary. That’s where this “Learn to Play” game comes in. + Learn at your own pace. + Ask as many questions as you want. + Have fun without worrying about keeping up with an experienced group. + Use the official D&D rules, adventures, and tools. + This is a great way to get comfortable with D&D before joining a table with more players. *** This is a weekly drop-in/drop-out game night, designed to be relaxed and easygoing. You're free to join me for just a one-time adventure, or, if you’re having a great time, we can continue the adventure together the following week! This is a great low-cost place to start before joining one of my games with more people. That said, I’m still here to give you a great D&D experience. My focus is on providing an awesome sandbox environment where you can learn, experiment, and grow your character from a lowly Level 1 adventurer into an epic hero. Creating your character
You will use D&D Beyond to create and manage your character. If you’d feel more comfortable, we can create your character together during the session. No need to have everything figured out ahead of time! If you’d like to get a head start, you may claim a ready-to-play premade character (after joining) from the provided campaign link, or create your own character using the following rules: + Source: (5.5e Core Rules) 2024 Player’s Handbook + Level: 1 + Ability Scores: Standard Array + Hit Point Type: Fixed + Starting Equipment: Default If you have any questions, please message me. 🙂

What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will use D&D Beyond and D&D Beyond Maps to play. D&D Beyond is the official digital toolset, companion, and virtual tabletop for Dungeons & Dragons. + You’ll need to create a free D&D Beyond account at dndbeyond.com. + Next, I’ll send you a link to join our campaign. From there, you can either create your own character or claim an unassigned character. + Before the session, I’ll also send you a Google Meet or Discord link we’ll use for audio, video, and chat. Let me know if you prefer Google Meet or Discord. If you prefer Discord, you will also need to create a free account there. *** Everything is browser-based, so you don’t need to download or install anything. If you feel intimidated, please send me a message, and we can walk through this together. ***

Homebrew rules
+ Currency. Gold Pieces (GP) are the sole currency used in this game. Silver Pieces, Copper Pieces, and other denominations are not used. + Rounding. Any monetary value of less than 1 GP is rounded up to 1 GP. + Game Balance. All prices, costs, rewards, treasure, and other monetary values are balanced around the use of GP as the smallest unit of currency.
