About the adventure

Welcome to the Arcanum Academy, one of the greatest centers of magical learning in Ithyra. Here, magic is not merely something to cast it is something to understand, question, and reshape. As Initiates, you will study the Weave, uncover strange magical theories, take on quest for the realm, learn to alter spells beyond their traditional limits, and eventually craft a magical item of your own design. Between lessons, you'll compete against rival students, test your abilities in arcane competitions, form friendships and rivalries, and discover that even the most prestigious academy has secrets buried beneath its halls. Set within the high-fantasy world of Ithyra, Prodigies of the Weave blends ancient magic with aetherpunk innovation, a world where arcane theory and magical technology are beginning to change what people believe magic can accomplish. But the more you learn, the more questions arise. What is the Weave truly capable of? Why have certain magical theories been forgotten? And why does it seem that the academy and its faculty are hiding something from its students? This campaign is for players who enjoy character driven stories, magical discovery, exploration, and meaningful choices. My style is heavily narrative and choice focused. Your decisions shape your relationships, your education, your reputation, and ultimately the direction of the story. There isn't always a single correct path, and the world will respond to the choices you make. Come prepared to attend classes, experiment with magic, compete with your peers, make mistakes, uncover mysteries, and decide for yourselves what kind of weavers you want to become. The Weave has rules. Magic has limits. You are here to discover what happens when you challenge both.

About me

I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2021 and started running games in 2023. Over the past 2–3 years of DMing, I’ve enjoyed crafting a homebrew world and telling stories with my players where choice truly matters. I currently run 4 campaigns with a total of 19 players. I like to focus on creating a narrative-driven experience that makes every character feel like an integral part of the world, whether through their backstories, their personal goals, or the choices they make along the way. I like to give players plenty of space for roleplay, character exploration, and meaningful interactions with NPCs and fellow party members, while also creating challenging combats to keep players on their toes. Exploration is something I continue to refine, but it has been a area of mine that keeps improving. All in all, I'm a DM because I love collaborating with players to tell fun, captivating stories together.

Character creation

Creating your character

I will host a free session 0 within my discord, with all players apart of the campaign. Together we will go over what to except what we are looking to get out of this campaign. We will talk character ideas, the world, homebrew rules, red lines etc. I will then meet with you all over voice or we can speak through messages and work out the finer details of your character. Characters will be made on dndbeyond then uploaded to foundry VTT.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need a discord and dndbeyond account. A loose character idea. Everything else I will provide for you.

What Glitch brings to the table

In my games you will find ambient music, engaging combat, intricate puzzles, and tricky riddles. I use well known homebrew rules and have a few of my own I've made. My DM style is more narrative/lore driven, a cinematic sandbox if you will. I focus more on mystery, consequences and player discovery. I don't tell a story my players happen to be playing in, more so I build a world that has a story happening inside it. My players agency is what drives the story, and their agency is what effect the world.

Homebrew rules

I use most known homebrew rules, and I've a few of my own I've implemented.

Safety

How Glitch creates a safe table

During my free session zero players and I will be able to go over in detail on what we don't want appearing in game. In the content warnings section, I've listed a few things which are likely to appear but not guaranteed. I will always give a warning before session starts, informing players of potential uncomfortable topics or scenarios they may encounter. Players will always be able to inform me before hand or during if they would like me to skip what's happening or that of the like.
