About the adventure
Part one of the Jeremiah Saga, Rapture Protocol provides an excellent introduction to the Alien Evolved edition and a fun cinematic adventure for all comers. In the year 2185, in the 289 G Hydrae System, your crew are drawn quickly together for the last run of the USCSS Fidanza, an old hauler due for decommissioning. A simple enough job, take the rusty old freighter out to pick up a lucrative shipment of ore from a distant mining colony and return it to Earth for decommissioning. Then you and your new friends can celebrate a new corporate contract for a job well done. Naturally, things don't go to plan. A game set for 3-5 players, each PC will have their own agenda which may or may not fit the group's. Above all else, survival is the key agenda here as it is by no means guaranteed in this system. A pregenerated list of interesting characters gives you an easy way into the story with you guiding your PC to defiant survival or a gruesome demise. The game is for those who don't mind going through one or two characters in the game, after all what kind of Alien film is free of a little blood. While there will be conflict, bloodshed, and lunacy, I keep a safe and friendly table that welcomes all comers. If anything goes too hard, just hit the X card and we'll cut to black. LGBTQ and neurodivergent players are very welcome :) Above all, have fun!

About me
Hi! I'm a long-time fan of sci-fi and fantasy who loves to put on a show. I spent my younger years performing as a reenactor and pro-wrestler and got into GM'ing and TTRPG's a bit before lockdown. Since then, I have thoroughly fallen down the rabbit hole. Besides TTRPG's, I'm working toward voice acting and enjoy writing and map-making, losing many hours to world-building. After years teaching display combat focussed on cooperative storytelling. I love having the opportunity to tell stories and perform with people, getting the fun of playing larger than life monsters and villains, and seeing people's creativity. Helping new players to relax and enjoy the game makes this such a rewarding pastime. I enjoy odd and eccentric characters and like using voices and sounds, encouraging a relaxed atmosphere at the table. Professionally, I've run a few fundraisers including some streamed online, and I've been running games of D&D 5e and several Free League games like Aliens and One Ring since 2022. I'm constantly trying to gain experience across a wide array of games to help tell the best stories. I'm late diagnosed neurodivergent and Ace and aim to provide a welcoming environment for all comers.

Creating your character
The game is prepared with five pre-generated characters with their own traits, agendas, buddies and rivalries. The potential characters and their specialties will be shared in advance so people can choose who they want to play as, or we can roll a die to choose at random if you enjoy the chaos. Your personal agenda will be shared in session and will evolve as the game goes on with a reward for following it in-game. These will be kept secret and rewards given after each of the 3 acts to those who follow them. As well as the Foundry app's character sheet on the day, I will share a character sheet pdf with you and can share an interactive version on the Demiplane site so you can explore the sheet and get to know your actions. When Free League Unbound releases character creation more options may become available. Player Characters: Benjamin York, Executive Officer: You were hoping for a comfy flight to Earth and a desk job, will you find the leadership skills to get your crew home? Isla Witt, Navigation Officer: You're dream was always to pilot through the stars, no matter what gets in the way. Will you find the way home? Martina Martinez, Science Officer: You're searching for that big scientific break, but now you just want to get back to Earth. Sadly, this junker is your best shot. Eve Weiss, Medical Officer: In a galaxy of people looking out for themselves, you're the one trying to help. Will you bring light to the darkness on the ship and below? Dominic Jeffers, Engineer: It's not arrogance when you can prove it. If the little folk walking your halls don't recognize you're skills, well that's their problem. If you could just find a stiff drink...
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will be run on Foundry. When we jump to the Discord chat I will send you the game link and you'll find a player listing in your name with a password provided. Follow that to get to your character, no accounts required with Foundry. I intend to test these on session zero to ensure it all runs smoothly but be aware the game page is only open during game times. Please run the game on a PC or laptop if possible, tablets and such can be more difficult to use with a virtual tabletop. Foundry provides the game maps and mechanics but if you want to roll manually, you just need a number of d6. Video chat will be held over Discord so a Discord account will be needed. A headset would be preferred for the sake of easy audio and if you have a noisy background, push to talk is a good option out of respect for the other players. A character sheet can also be shared over Demiplane, providing a detailed digital guide to the character and dice roll mechanics you can study or use if the Foundry one is not your style. A notepad and pen is always good for notes but not essential. Naturally, a decent internet connection is a must.
What Greg/Loonequine brings to the table
I will provide a patient and fun session focused on ensuring all players enjoy the role-play and learn the mechanics as we go. There are few NPC's in this setting I will be portraying with voices and mannerisms. I'm not a pro voice actor but I will play with voices and encourage everyone to be comfy trying stuff. Player-death is a possibility but there are several other characters the player can jump into. If you prefer less intensity, everything is negotiable as long as you're having fun. Music and sound effects will add to the scene, aiming for a spooky atmosphere reminiscent of the films.

How Greg/Loonequine creates a safe table
The campaign will begin with an introductory session zero on Discord to ensure we are all on the same page, including a set of rules for comfort and clarity. Any safety concerns can be messaged to me on discord in total confidence. We will be also be talking through the game login, making sure all the tech is working, and going over the safety tools available for the players. In game red flag options will be provided through Foundry, Discord, and with an on camera option discussed. Any Lines (Absolute No) or Veils (fade out and imply with a discretion shot) can be sent to me with discretion, so it is up to you how the scenes are played. PVP may well occur as characters have their own agendas that may conflict, but if anything makes anyone uncomfortable we can adjust. As described earlier, character flaws are all well and good but discrimination and abusive behavior will not be tolerated. Whispers to the GM through Foundry or Discord will be available to report poor behavior or request breaks. I want everyone to feel safe and to enjoy keeping the stress and panic among the characters, not the players.
