About the adventure
The perfect introduction to the Alien RPG Evolved edition. Whether you're a fan of the films or brand new to the setting, this official module will help you find your space legs in the unforgiving world of Aliens. Using the Evolved Edition of Aliens RPG, you will be playing colonists of Hadley's Hope, the setting of the classic Aliens film. Rather than the heavily armed Colonial Marines, you will be a small group of colonists in the shake and bake colony working with your wits and what tools you have to survive and maybe even escape the dreaded Xenomorph outbreak. In three acts you will play unique characters, each with their own agenda. You will strive to achieve these aims while struggling to survive the Universe's perfect organism. You'll learn the mechanics of the game while exploring dark corridors, surviving the stress and panic mechanics, hiding from the unknown, or even charging the unknown with a wrench! The module is intended to be an introduction for the game itself. It will be at a steady pace using a VTT to help you through the mechanics. That said, I want everyone to enjoy the potential for roleplay and to feel the adrenaline this system offers. Part of the fun of the Alien RPG is the real possibility that you will go through a few characters so we aim to embrace the horror and tension. If you're cunning and a little lucky, you'll find a way. If not... This game can be run in a single session, but it can be more fun to spread it out so people can explore and RP. Whether you smash through in one evening or cautiously move through 2 or 3, it's your session to take at your pace. No prior knowledge of the setting or mechanics are required and safety tools will be in use to ensure the comfort of the players and a set of game rules/etiquette will be supplied in advance. There will be in-character bickering but active sexism/racism/abusive behavior will not be tolerated. LGBT and neurodivergent players welcome (ace and ND myself) Above all, keep it cool, keep it fun :)

About me
Hi! I'm a long-time fan of sci-fi and fantasy who loves to put on a show. I spent my younger years performing as a reenactor and pro-wrestler and got into GM'ing and TTRPG's a bit before lockdown. Since then, I have thoroughly fallen down the rabbit hole. Besides TTRPG's, I'm working toward voice acting and enjoy writing and map-making, losing many hours to world-building. After years teaching display combat focussed on cooperative storytelling. I love having the opportunity to tell stories and perform with people, getting the fun of playing larger than life monsters and villains, and seeing people's creativity. Helping new players to relax and enjoy the game makes this such a rewarding pastime. I enjoy odd and eccentric characters and like using voices and sounds, encouraging a relaxed atmosphere at the table. Professionally, I've run a few fundraisers including some streamed online, and I've been running games of D&D 5e and several Free League games like Aliens and One Ring since 2022. I'm constantly trying to gain experience across a wide array of games to help tell the best stories. I'm late diagnosed neurodivergent and Ace and aim to provide a welcoming environment for all comers.

Creating your character
The Starter Set has five pre-generated characters with their own traits, agendas, buddies and rivalries. The potential characters and their specialities will be shared in advance so people can choose who they want to play as, or we can roll a die to choose at random if you enjoy the chaos. Your personal agenda will be shared in session and will evolve as the game goes on with a reward for following it in-game. I will share a character sheet pdf with you and an actions cheat sheet so you can explore the sheet and get to know your options. Player Characters: Janice MacWhirr Officer and survey team leader The head of the survey team, more like herding cats. Still, it's your job to get this group to safety whether they like it or not. If the Company have a problem with that, they can bill you. Morgan Hirsch Security officer Once a Colonial Marine, now a forsaken soul far from the light of God. People can try and order you around but you know the score. When it hits the fan, people will look to you to keep them alive. Hannah Singleton Pilot (well... driver while you're on this dirtball) Self-sufficient and ready to prove yourself, you've made it this far on grit and a refusal to give up. Maybe it's time you left the rain behind and found the stars. Sonny Sigg Science Officer Typical. The moment something interesting happens you're sent on a survey mission. Whatever's going on, a calm and logical approach will point the way. Holroyd Roughneck Synthetic A Weyland-Yutani artificial person (android), you've only been on the world for two years. You do your best to keep everything running but this Wey-Yu inspection team sure has everyone riled up.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The game will be run on Foundry so no account will be needed. I send you the game link and you'll find a player listing in your name with the password provided. Follow that to get to your character, no accounts required with Foundry. Please run the game on a PC if possible, tablets and such can be more difficult to use with a virtual tabletop. Foundry provides the game maps and mechanics but if you want to roll manually, you just need a number of d6. Video chat will be held over Discord so a Discord account will be needed. A headset would be preferred for the sake of easy audio and if you have a noisy background, push to talk is a good option. A character sheet can also be shared over Demiplane, providing a detailed digital guide to the character and dice roll mechanics you can study or use if the Foundry sheet is not your style. A notepad and pen is always good for notes but not essential. Naturally, a decent internet connection is a must. A camera would be nice but is not essential if you prefer voice only.
What Greg/Loonequine brings to the table
I will provide a patient and fun session focused on ensuring all players learn the mechanics as we go. There are few NPC's in this setting I will be portraying with voices and mannerisms. I'm not a pro voice actor but I will play with voices and encourage everyone to be comfy trying stuff. Unless anyone is severely opposed (no judgement it's your game), player-death is a possibility but there are several other characters the player can jump into. Story Points are given out for following your agenda and can be used to evade a gruesome fate so remember your assets. If you prefer less intensity, everything is negotiable as long as you're having fun. If you all prefer more intensity, easily done :D Music and sound effects will add to the scene, aiming for a spooky atmosphere reminiscent of the films. You will have volume control and a mute button on Foundry to adjust and balance.

How Greg/Loonequine creates a safe table
There will be a pre-game session zero chat on Discord to ensure we are all on the same page, including a set of rules for comfort and clarity. Any safety concerns can be messaged to me on discord in total confidence. While a guide will be on discord and I aim to test login before the session, the first 20 minutes of the session will be making sure all the tech is working, then going over the safety tools. In game, red flag options will be provided through Foundry, Discord, and with an on camera option discussed. Any Lines (Absolute No) or Veils (fade out and imply with a discretion shot) can be sent to me with discretion, so it is up to you how the scenes are played. PVP (if it occurs) will be entirely consensual and can be refused within reason. Characters have their own agendas that may conflict, but if anything makes anyone uncomfortable we can adjust. As described earlier, character flaws are all well and good but discrimination and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. There will be no depictions of sexual assault or other inappropriate behaviour. Whispers to the GM through Foundry or Discord will be available to report poor behaviour or request breaks. I want everyone to feel safe and to enjoy keeping the stress and panic in the game.
