About the adventure
Ravenloft is a place of horror and misery. It is made up of a magic mist that shroud and trap people in what is know as Domains of Dread. These domains are create to imprison Darklords, wicked people who are cursed to be forever tortured in a domain tailor made to their personal failings or crimes. the most well known domain and associated darklord is Berovia and Strahd von Zarovich. But there are many other domains and darklords. This campaign will hopefully let you explore a handful of them. the places you will explore and the people you will meet will be determined based on what you do in the sessions and what you as a player wish to see. You can see anything from cosmic horror, a zombie apocalypse, dead gods, and much more. So what is this campaign really about? Well you were just living your ordinary life out there in the multiverse when suddenly were ripped away from anything familier to you and trapped within the mists of Ravenloft. What happens next is up to you, what will you do to escape this living nightmare you find yourself in? Will you only try to help yourself out, or will you be among the few who tries to be a hero? Do you face the horrors and try to fight, or do you run away so you may live another day?

About me
I have played DnD since 2017, having played and ran many games with varied themes and settings. I have a strong handle with not only DnD 5e/5.5e I also have GMed a multitupe of other systems as well. I enjoy vast and deep worldbuilding, and take great care to wave any players backstory into the world. I see combat, roleplay, and exploration as important parts of a good game. I use roll20, but can use talespire if a group wishes. Experienced players, first time players, and anyone in-between are welcomed. I am more then happy teaching anyone to play. I also ensure all my games are inclusive and welcoming to all people.

Creating your character
For this game any official D&D 5.5E books can be used for character creation. If you want to use something from the 2014 ruleset or homebrew please ask me first so I can review it (I am open to most things, but just want to make sure I know what my players are playing) you can either make your character in advance or do it during session 0. character creation as normal, stats are 4d6 drop the lowest or point buy (I trust you all with rolling, but if I smell something fishy I might make you do point buy or roll) For your character's backstory and personality: you have been taking from your place in the multiverse and brought to Ravenloft. A long detailed backstory will not be needed, but what I would like is for you to write down a reason for why your character was taken to Ravenloft. There are many reasons a person might be brought to Ravenloft; as a punishment, either for your own misdeeds or as a personal punishment for a dark lord. A dark lord took an interest in you. A god has a cosmic plan and you are a pawn that is need for it to be fulfilled. If you are having problems with coming up with something you can reach out to me and I can help you come up with soemthing.

All you need to do is join the discord and the roll20 and be ready with a mic and a positive attitude for the sessions. I will take care of the rest!
What Maria brings to the table
I am no voice actor, but I try to give the NPCs their own unique voices. I provide ambient and combat music through roll20. I always try to make combat encounters dynamic. I mostly play rules as intended, but I support creative problem solving. I am not afraid to improv if a player catches me off guard. I also enjoy working with my players to incorporate their characters into the story and world as much as possible.

How Maria creates a safe table
we will go over soft and hard boundaries in session 0 and you may always send me privately any new boundaries at any point during the campaign. I will make sure all players respect boundaries, and I am not afraid to end a scene if it makes a player uncomfortable. And I am always welcoming to players reaching out to me privately during or after game if there is something they need.
