About the adventure
The year is 2030, you are part of a rogue covert operation resisting the corrupt Private Corporate take-over of the world. You and your team are aboard the U.S.S. Resolute being pursued by the SpaceX: Regency battle cruiser. Your mission is compromised and you must escape Mars (SpaceX home base). During the chase you and the enemy ship experience anomalous technical malfunctions of all ship systems. Explosions and alarm bells ring in your ears until finally, a quiet settles over the ship, save for the voices of worried personnel and random sparks from misfiring wires. You and your ship are no longer leaving Mars’ atmosphere but instead somewhere in the dead of space. The computers are not fully working, but the best science team knows that the stars are different here. Reality sets in when you spot the faint spiral of the Milky Way galaxy adrift far far off in the sky. Now your team’s mission is clear. The Ship is too badly damaged to fly the 2.5 Million light years back to Earth from the Andromeda Galaxy that you appear to be in. Energy levels are dwindling and you will need to land on a nearby inhabitable planet to make repairs. There are signs of a Stargate System, the portals that take you to different planets in the galaxy that you are very familiar with. The ship’s crew will work diligently to exact repairs on the ship and make the supplies last while you and your SG team will travel through the gate to meet new peoples, make alliances, gather resources, so that you can survive in the new galaxy. The threat of old and new enemies becomes clear when you find evidence that the pursuing SpaceX ship was also sent somewhere in this Galaxy and that there are signs of Goa’uld activity (the race of aliens your people had been fighting for 2 decades in the Milky Way). How will you rise to the duty set in front of you? This team and the ship’s crew are your comrades and now your family. The Stargate universe is filled with action packed adventure! We will be using the Open D6 system to play in which perfectly allows for quick combat with explosive wild-die mechanics that fit the classic action adventure feel of the TV show it’s inspired by. The setting is supposed to be close to modern day, but with added sci-fi elements and some creative choices in the future setting of 2030 following AI/Robot advancements, private corporations taking over, and Mars being settled by SpaceX. The Stargate program that previously ran secretly, has been declassified, but at a time where the average person is growing more and more apathetic due to world disasters and the entertainment industry produced by the Private Corporate take-over to dumb down and distract the population. The age of Earth being the justice fighters for the Milky Way Galaxy is over and you and your team will be the last remnants of that Old Guard of SG-Teams that remembers.

About me
Tabletop roleplaying games are the culmination of all my life long interests; writing, creativity, improv/accents/voices, roleplaying, story/narrative, board games, videogames, worldbuilding/lore, crafts, etc. Now that I have found game mastering, it has become a true calling for me. I can't get enough of it, so I am embarking on my journey as a professional GM in the hopes of creating wonderfully immersive games, in person as well as online, through compelling NPC's, interesting puzzles and challenges, character driven stories, and creating genuine fun at the table. I have a wide variety of interests from silly tomfoolery all the way to serious and deadly challenges. Sarcasm and silliness tends to frequent my tables because I want my players to explore all the depth of creativity that comes from playing a game where you can do anything. I am queer and want to bring together tables that are inclusive, open minded, and cooperative. My genre interests include (but are not limited to): ⭐️Zelda, Naruto, ATLAB, Game of Thrones, ⭐️Conan, Harry Potter, ⭐️Elder Scrolls, LOTR, ⭐️Stargate, Star Trek, Star Wars, History, ⭐️Mythology/Ancient times/Medieval/Bronze age, Sword and Sorcery, ACOTAR, Pirates, and Wheel of Time. (Starring my favorites). I can help players learn the game and create their character. I have experience, and am willing to learn, other systems (dnd, gurps, conan, d6, lasers & feelings, pbta, etc.).

Creating your character
I will have pre-made characters available if needed. This game uses a homebrew character sheet for character creation, linked in the Discord channel and can be found online here: https://johntynes.com/revland2000/rl_sg0.html Character creation is pretty straight forward you pick a template and expand on it. Put effort into your character's background and personality though, outside of combat sarcasm and banter are highly encouraged (as is often an occurrence in the TV series). During Session 0 we will start (or finish) character creation as well as making your new homeworld and ship together. This base of operations should feel like home to the players as well as the characters and the crew should feel like family. If you want to get a better sense of what this universe is like I recommend watching some of the TV series of Stargate: SG1 or the original movie Stargate (1994) for more context on how it began. Otherwise the Stargate Wiki or look up explanations on youtube such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oazeiMO0vf8 For characters, feel free to make any type of character you want as long as they fit into the following criteria: if they are from Earth they will likely be either part of the US Air Force/Military or a civilian scientist/expert in a certain subject (science, space, alien technology, archeology, medicine, etc.). If they are an alien, they would likely be a Tok'ra agent or a free Jaffa. Feel free to look up information about these if you are unfamiliar or ask me any questions I am a super fan of stargate! :) Finally, your character must be a team player, follow orders, and be a "good guy". You can still have faults or be rebellious, but you will generally need to be following the proper chain of command as is expected of any SG-team member. You will also be asked to create a couple other NPC's that you know well from the crew. If you have any questions or want to try something outside of what is listed above as a necessary component of character creation, please ask! I am flexible to new ideas and having characters that might not perfectly fit in (such as a different type of alien: Goa'uld or a Unas) as long as it would fit in and not be OP compared to the other PC's.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will be using Foundry VTT and Discord for play. Most play might be more theatre of the mind, unless we need a more tactical map or to show images. Please have access to a mic (camera recommended but not required) It is recommended to have a printed character sheet as well.
What Anthony brings to the table
I love roleplay, fast and easy action, rule of cool, and creativity. I want to keep the theme of this game fun, goofy/comedic, light hearted, action adventure, with the twist of gritty survival as a bit of a twist. I will play ambient music when possible and do fun voices!

How Anthony creates a safe table
I want this game to be pretty light hearted despite the action heavy content. The good guys always win, eventually type of vibes. While there will be violence most will not be very detailed. I want to make this a safe place so if there is any content listed that you are uncomfortable with please message me and I will see what I can do to alter the play within reason (cannot get rid of space/guns etc, but I can total remove a specific cultural element if it is triggering/offensive or totally change a type of alien if a certain insect type is triggering for example) Any players that harass others can be kicked from the game at GM digression.
